MarcaDS has been updated with a total of 104 games and sound for Pac-Man and its many clones.

Cool, does anyone know what games the DS will be able to handle?

Devil_Spawn

i tried to get this working, but it said no games found, anybody know how to get it to work on sc?

scootdog

I can't get Version 3.0 to load on my Supercard CF.  Version 2.0 worked great and Version 2.6 worked well except for it would sometimes hang on the opening "portabledev" screen.

This is from the readme:

How to use with FlashCard (Neoflash and others) :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unzip allfiles in a directory.
Put your arcade roms (NOT COMPRESSED) in the directory.

Execute the  makearcads.bat file, you will have two new files:
 MarcaDS.ds.gba and MarcaDS.nds, enjoy your play :=) !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to use with M3/GBAMP/MK2/MK3/G6/Ninja DS, etc  :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unzip MarcaDS.nds in a MARCADS directory in the root directory on your SD / MMC card.
Be careful, the directory MUST BE in the root directory of your SD / MMC card.
Put your arcade roms (ZIP format with NO COMPRESSION option) in this directory.

That's all, MarcaDS can now be execute :) !

MarcaDS was tested in libfat mode on : <edit> What is libfat mode?
- M3Lite
- G6 Lite
- NinjaDS
- MK2 /MK3 (with menu 0.6 beta 2)
- EZ Flash 4

I used the first method to get version 2.0 and 2.6 to work.  I tried both methods on 3.0 and the screen will say "search for fat drivers" and then it will say "no game found".

Supercard has not been listed as being supported, but since the first 2 versions worked I think that this one should be able to also.  Anyway I'm tired of messing with it for now.  If anyone gets this working please let us know how.

Have most of the roms that work except 10 or so. Will try it out, in a little while (after outside lights are up  :(  ).

On my SClite it works. I had to patch it with moonshell patcher though.

The main marcads.nds does not need to be in the marcads folder to work.

very nice graphics!

So, can you give me detailed steps of what your setup is kind of like "MarcaDS for Dummies"? LOL.

I tried it with marcads.nds  in the folder.  So, I should put that on the main root directory?

What all is in your MarcaDS folder, just the uncompressed zip files of the roms?

Should I try the moonshell patcher even though I am using a CF?

Thanks

onekelly

yes i will let you know what I did. pretty much followed what you said. the thing is you have to make sure you have all the files in the romname.zip or it will not load. I have found that some of my mame roms are missing files but still work with mame, this will not fly with marcads.

The thing that made it work for me was the patching of it.

i have the roms.zip (uncompressed), gbfs folder (did not know what it all was so I just put it in there), all in the marcads folder with the marcads.nds in the root dir.

once the simpsons 4 player arcade r0m can be emulated...then i will love this program and i will donate to him every day for the rest of his life ;)

Works for me on my SC lite as well. Check the txt file in the package to see which rom files are required for each romset. For example, my mspacman did not have boot1 through boot6 but my mspacmanb did, so I extracted them and rezipped them with the files from mspacman and it worked. Also, I think most romsets have some compression so you will probably need to unzip them and rezip them with no compression. Using 7-zip it is the "Store" option.

Also, the nds file and roms do not need to be in the root directory like he says in the readme. It worked fine for me within other directories.

I hope more support is added soon, it's a great program.

It works well for me also on my SCLite.  Here's what I did.

I took the marcads.nds file, ran it through the Moonshell patcher, and then put it onto my microSD card.  You can put the marcads.nds file anywhere you like, but I was unable to put the ROMs anywhere but in /MarcaDS.  Autobulb, are you positive you were able to put the ROMs in other locations or had you just tried relocating the marcads.nds file?

The real challenge in getting everything working is making your own uncompressed ZIPs.  A lot of times, my ROM sets don't match up 100% and I have to go digging through various bootleg versions to find the appropriate files.  It'd be nice if the most up to date versions of the ROMs were used as well as if MarcaDS supported compression.  I think it'd save everyone some time.  :)

Other than that, I was able to get Pac Man, Frogger, and Donkey Kong running smoothly...this is definitely a promising emulator.

scootdog

Yeah this is a sweet emu that I have been using for about a year now since version 2.0.  I'm surprised more people haven't discussed it on here.

It is a pain digging thru all the various parents and clones and then rezipping them uncompressed.  Now if someone has everygame working and would want to pm me a link, that would be sweet. LOL

autobulb

BOG, actually I was wrong. I just fired it up today before class with MarcaDS and the ROM in another folder and it couldn't find the games. Sorry about that.

onekelly

scootdog, I am working on getting them all lined out. should be a day or two cause there is alot to check. I will pm you when complete.

onekelly

OK...High frustration. So far I have checked and went thru about 30 or so roms and only a few work. Yes, have correct amount of files in zip, uncompressed, so lets skip those basics.

I am using SClite.

Working for me:
Frogger ....................... frogger.zip
Mr.Do! ........................ mrdo.zip
Super Cobra ............... scobra.zip
Ponpoko ..................... ponpoko.zip
Ponpoko (Venture) ...... ponpokov.zip ............... screen shows errors
Ms. Pacman ................ mspacman.zip

Not working for me: (All pass audit with mame32.110u4, i have visually checked each zip file also)
1942
Bombjack set1
bombjack set2
Calipso
Donkey Kong us set 1
Donkey Kong 3
Donkey Kong Junior
Galaxy Wars un set 1
galaxy wars set 2
Lady Bug
Lady Bug bootleg
Lady bug bootleg 2
Mr. TNT

The rest of the list of 30 and files i have triedi left at work and will not see it for 4 days. I will try more when time available

i would like to know if others have gotten any games to work, if so please list titles and type of SC you are using.
