Are PS3s and Wiis realy that hard to get?

I don't get why people are paying so much for the ps3 and wii on ebay. At my shopko store in my town I went to and there was a 60GB ps3 just sitting there on the shelf so I bought it to sell on ebay. There were all the games and 7 controllers there too. The Wii should be easier to get and at the same store there is a wiimote just sitting there. So I don't get it, are they really hard to get in some big cities or something?

probably. I also think its kind of pointless to sell it on ebay for so much. I recently looked on amazon selling wii for around 700$

what is up with that. maybe i should have just bought 100 ps3s and wiis on launch day and sold them all for double the price also. haha

You should be grateful for that. :lol: Over here we have to freakin sell our souls to the Devil to get a PS3 for under $700. I don't really want one though. I prefer to get a Wii, which I might for Christmas, not sure, but I've never seen one being sold at any store around here.

where do you live? Here you have to line up still to get one. My friends dad got lucky getting him one for christmas. and we have no ps3's at all.

One of my brother's friends went to line up all night and couldn't get one. He wanted me to tag along too, thank god I didn't... Complete waste of time if you don't actually manage to get one.

I live in Austin Minnesota in USA. I live in a smaller town, no one ever lined up, even on the release date of the wii at my target people didnt start showing up till about 3 am and the store opens at 8 am.

well, count yourself lucky (and unusual).

i would never have gotten a wii if I hadn't lined up for the preorder.

and i have yet to see a ps3 on any shelves on the whole island of oahu.

Well I lined up at wal-mart in a bigger town because mine didnt have one and I waited 11 hours. I should have just waited for my target but I got it 8 hours earlyer and played it them 8 hours strait. Well I tried selling the ps3 on ebay for $850 but it didnt sell so Im getting it for xmas. If anyone wants it for $800 I will sell it to you.

most people dont like bidding on high priced auctions, they like the ones that start at like $1.23 or something and then by the end its like twice as muc has the thing is worth

Yea I know but If it didn't go above 850 then I didn't want to sell it because ebay and paypal fees are about $60 and then I wouldn't be making that much. My auction is already ended

Very simple reason that the prices are so high on Ebay- some people are stupid.

Got mine at Wal-mart a week after launch. Short line, but no big muss or fuss. Retail price a week late beats 3-4x retail to have it a little early.
