Besides the rumble series, can Opera be run with any  slot 1 device and slot 2 device?

What if they are from different manufacturers?

I am thinking of buying one of the many slot one devices & an ewin 2 (cheapest slot 2 device).  Would Opera be able to run?

Yes. Most likely.

No, that would not work. Triforce (the team who released the hack) only made 2 patches. 1 to use the SC as RAM, the other for M3.
It would not work..
