say if i wanted to delete a game to make space for a new one on my supercard mini .. but i might play it later could i just copy and paste the .sav file and then later copy it back from my pc to the supercard and put the nds rom back in and continue playing ..if not how?

Yea just drag it out of the sd card onto your computer.  I suggest keeping the NDS rom too, because sometimes new patchers screw things up, that only happened to me once.
