I know it's way way to early for a true verdict but looking for some feedback, which should I buy?

I've heard comments about how people don't like having to update the saver file database with the SCDS but from what I've seen with the R4 firmware updates it's basically doing the same thing for compatibility with games??

I think I'll like the SCDS GUI better with it being a moonshell clone.  But I am concerned about game compatibility as well.

Just looking for some additional information.

I will admit the GUI on the SCDS looks great...but from what i have heard and seen the R4 is more solid (build wise).  The GUI can always be improved ;)

Great review...very few cons.  Definitely glad i am going with the R4.

Unless you made it of stainless steal, it would be hard to be better made than the SCDS.  It is as good as any original ds cart I've ever seen, and the mini sd reader is the best one I've seen.

I believe that the SCDS has a processor ship sticking out. That could lead to possible damage. However, the R4 has nothing sticking out, covered completely with good plastic (except the Micro SD slot of course). In my humble opinion, the R4 has a better build than the SCDS.

Exactly.  Like i said, i would love to have the SCDS GUI...but i'll take the R4 (with no chips sticking out) and so far all DS games working over a pretty GUI.  Perhaps someone could overhaul the R4 GUI since the source code was released?

i would take the great compatability with no rom slowdown over microsd and save state size selection with a pretty gui any day. r4/m3 is the way to go.

You believe, you shouldn't really believe everything you read on these forums, there a whole for one of the chips cut in the plastic shell, to allow for the chips greater dept.   This is covered with a sticker, if you feel the sticker, you can feel a slight bump, maybe a mm or 2, you would never notice it, unless you were looking for something to complain about.   I'd bet the R4 has the same chip, and their cart just bulges out a little.

No, the R4 doesn't have a sticky out chip. I can tell this because I have replaced the PCB with the spare shell, and there are no holes at all cut into the case. None at all!

I am also having the same problem of deciding which one to choose SCDS or R4? However, i already have a supercard sd and i want to keep my saves. i heard that the R4 is better and has nothing sticking out of the card. The gui could also match the ones of SCDS now. which one should i buy? Can i keep my supercard saves on R4???

Based on reviews of the R4 and me having the M3 Simply, it's the EXACT same thing.
