I have looked around and people say they like the r4 better than the scds. The only reason i can see is the build quality, but the sc interface is really good. Are there any other reasons why people are choosing the r4 over the scds? Does scds support download play?

The R4 has better compatibility and a spring-loaded MicroSD slot. It also comes with a card reader and other freebies.
That's it basically... I like the SuperCard Team, and will continue buying their products, but I will definatly consider other products apart from the SuperCard.
Oh, and the R4 is cheaper.

I must add that the chip on the PCB protrudes from the cart. I find that unacceptable.

Is there a picture of this somewhere?

The R4 does not,

from the review on gbatemp.net
QuoteUnlike some other micro SD slot 1 solutions, the R4 has absolutely no chips that stick up under the label or casing. Everything is smooth and casing (even under the label) covers the entire PCB with no "cut-outs" to make way for protruding chips.

but the X9 does,

from the review on gbatemp.net
QuoteYou'll notice that the casings each have a hole for one of the board's chips that must pertrude. This makes the NinjaPass X9 a tight fit when removing it from your DS

The whole something through the case is a non issue, it effects nothing, basically something made up by fan boys to flame other cards.

I think it a pretty big issue if the review on GBAtemp says that because of the chip sticking out, it is odd to take out of the DS.  As well, matched up with the flimsy plastic, the Ninjapass is easy to crack, and will crack because the chip forces you to take it out oddly.

which games dont work for the scds? so far the only thing that's given me a problem is the browser with the glitched buttons.

I'll buy the R4 for the white casing and no chips bumping out the front. interface wise, I like the scds, the fact that i have all my most commonly played games (clubhouse, mkds, tetris, starfox etc mulitplayer) on the scl in slot 2 and the games that i'm just playing for a bit (new games and things where i switch up often) kinda makes it not big deal what I have in slot 1 as long as it's got good compatiblility.

the bump in the scds isnt a big deal acutally just cuz the tf is spring loaded and in the top, i havnet taken out the card since i put it in except 2 times to show people what it looked like.

The bump isn't really that bad looking but it is noticeable.  I take my supercard and DS link out quite a bit and I can see the chip on both of them sticking out.  The supercard sticks out a little more than the ds link.  Heres a picture

If your having some troubles getting the games to work try setting the sd speed to x2 or x1 it should help, took me forever to figure that out till I read the tutorial on supercard.cn  also how do I copy game saves from my supercard lite format to supercard ds?  do I just rename them because I cant get it to work.

That is odd. I am thinking the DS-Link has had some sort of revision, because the three units I received from RHS have NO chip sticking out. As a matter of fact, it feels as if the unit is of a solid plastic front cover....

Same for me. Both my DS-Link and SCDS stick out about a 1/2 mm.

I'll try to take pics of mine tomorrow. I do know that there was a revision of the DS-Link that had a screw, and mine do not have this screw. I wonder what they could have changed. I could be wrong and just never noticed it, but I really do not think so.
