Its not that it wouldn't be great, but I think it would take way too long to download.  15-20 pages, you have to keep them at a size where words are still readable.  I think it would be more practical to have a site that keeps a comicbookds version constantly updated, and people could download from there.  I seriously doubt there will be a person lacking the use of internet for a month, but still have access to a DS and Wifi.

Although I may be wrong, maybe download speeds aren't that bad for everyone, maybe it can be optimized.

Ya the Comic Book DS version would be a complimentary version or just another way of being able to view. Im sure a web page would be the most used, but other options would be great.

O thats true, a web page optimized for the Opera Web browser might be good.

I would love to help, but I'm not sure how. :P As most of you know, I know SOME things about this stuff, but get confused often.

I could do a few reviews I suppose, but I have all slot-2's, and then a DSLink. Maybe ANOTHER FlashMe guide. Uh... I think I'm pretty worthless unless you want a noobs guide. XD

I COULD review DSLink as well if RHS would HURRY UP.  lol

i wouldnt mind helping if you could tell me what i can do to help

sinkhead

I'll help if you want me to.
I have an R4, an M3 Simply, soon I will have a DS-X, and I also have a SuperCard Lite. I get things sent as review samples so I usually have a fairly up-to-date setup.

Quote from: "bacon"now the other day i was looking for some reading material and as i thinking of getting a new slot 1 flash cart i wanted something to do with that.

i thought the r4 review from gbatemp.net would be great but at 17 pages id go with out and just read it later. so heres my question...

would you.... download / print / buy a flash cart magazine if it had reviews, compatibility charts for recent releases, guides, features etc...

now for this too happen i would need some people to help out with some of the articles (e.g. writing reviews, giving info, helping with links, allowing use of their guides for print etc...)

now this would look good as a finished product as i am a graphic designer and can make good looking layouts with photo shop and quark, so this isn't like a ms publisher sort of thing.  :D

i still need to work out the details but the magazine would be bi-weekly or monthly and be cover 12 - 24 A4 pages.

now by 'buy' i would mean just to cover the costs of paper, ink and postage, roughly £1.50 (uk) or $6.00 (us) this is as im based in uk and airmail is more expensive   .

I'm not expecting to make a profit from this as the final publications would be free for download online.

any help would be great, im just trying to give something back in the only way that would be half decent ¬¬ . if you did write articles or help out, i would credit you (obviously) and you could have an advert in the mag.

Thanks for reading my overly big post

Great Idea!! I would most likely buy it. And i can relate to trying to find some reading material!

Hey i have a question about the online homebrew app that your making to view the latest issue. Would you have to be connected to the internet while reading it or could you just download onto you memory card and read it on the go??

PharaohsVizier

Last time I checked, Devs said that he'd talk to Lick to see if a homebrew that could connect online is possible.  And a comicbookds version looks pretty possible too.

WegeHop

This is a Great idea!! I would probably buy this.

Now some questions:

1. Is comicbookds where you can download it to your memory card and view it on your ds wihtout being connectdd online??
2. About how close are you to yoiur guys first issue?
3. About how much do you think this newsletter will cost for people who live in the U.S.?

Thank you

PharaohsVizier

1.  Yes. ComicbookDS is an application that takes images and makes them into an nds file.  I'm not sure if that'll be the main way of getting issues through the DS if DeVS manages to get the online homebrew working.

2.  It is in February, I think bacon said he wants it on the first of February or as close to that as possible.

3.  Have no clue, go PM bacon.

DeVS

I was under the impression it was going to be free.
