I'm really interested in DSlinux but it seems as though it's read only on the SC... That would be pretty sweet if the Romman crew would release some info for developers like these.  Freakin damn sweet stuff.  I'm definately interested almost more in homebrew than commercial stuff these days.  (My DS is finally on the way...)

I mean look at this stuff...
This screenshot of the touchscreen keyboard blew me away:

There is also nice list of homebrew links here: http://ndshomebrew.4t.com/

I cant wait to get this stuff going... Anyone have any good / bad experiences with homebrew?  What's the most impressive you've seen??

Dudu.exe

all homebrew develpers ( like DSlinux, Scummvm, moonshel and others ) work wih GBAmp, and works amazing.. scummvm works reading files direcltly fom CF .. so there is no limit size, moonshell too..

i agree Romman have to sent some info to those guys ...

If they manage to give a whole TCP stack to DS from Linux... CHEAP WIFI DEVICE...!

Then the possibilties will be endless! FireFox for DS, Apache for DS, MySQL for DS, WebSphere Application Server for DS (okok, thats pusing it...)

I guess a browser fo DS is not too good becouse the screen resoluition
the most sites are made to be viewd in 800x600. but if the browser is only text mode whould be great...

A rss feed reader and email cliente should be amazing on DS..

Simple web and email would be top.  Even if it's a lynx port or something I'd like to sit on the pot and do some basic browsing.

DeVS

Hell just a gui for DS Linux would be nice, lol. It's all command line right now.

I was going to try to explain, but figured wikipedia's description would be best.  I use SSH to remotely login to my linux server.  Basic command line, etc.

Quote from: "Wikipedia"In computing, Secure Shell or SSH is both a computer program and an associated network protocol designed for logging into and executing commands on a networked computer. The designers of SSH aimed to replace the earlier rlogin, TELNET and rsh protocols, and the resultant protocol provides secure encrypted communications between two untrusted hosts over an insecure network. Users of SSH can also use it for tunnelling, forwarding arbitrary TCP ports and X11 connections over the resultant secure channel; and can transfer files using the associated SFTP or SCP protocols. An ssh server, by default, listens on the standard TCP port 22.

look

If the DSlinux people can use the same instructions as games to read/write to DS carts then the patching software and new firmware should update dslinux to access the sd/cf

Theres a chance anyway

read is ok. but to wirte it need to be modified to work propely with supercard...

NT

When they get the network stuff going along with SSH it'll be awesome.  Forget building this or that app to run on dslinux, if you've got an access point nearby just SSH into a full blown Linux box and run any console-based app you want.  Web, Instant Messaging, IRC, etc...   8)
