bitblt,

So is wrg-nofl.zip the file that I should use to unflash me DSLite? Do you also have to bridge the SL1 again to do it?

Can I put a link here to for it?

Yes, wrg-nofl.zip is the file you need to download. Yes, you will have to bridge SL1 again.

I don't know if posting a link is a good idea. Just use this link for now . . .

NOTE: We seem to be having problems with our database here. I can't find any posts by kazumi213. Hopefully Socket can fix this?

Thanks bitblt. Just wanted to make sure I was using the right file before even considering it. So what is the consensus? Are most people unflashing their systems now?

Unflash? What for really? I guess if I wanted to hinder download play, make it a bitch to run the DS-Link, and see health and safety screens...well...then it would be a spendid idea.

The whole unflashing thing arose originally because certain people believe that Nintendo will block you in one way or another....be it with WFC or Wii connectivity....or maybe even games not working on a flashed device. NONE of this has happened to date.

At this point, I consider this a tool to "stay in warranty"...and that is really it.

True, but you can also look at it anothre way. To get your DS back to the way it was originally designed. Now with most of the Slot 1 devices... it really isn't truly a needed thing to have Flashme installed. It was a way to a means back in the day. Now stuff has advanced to the point that having flashme isn't  something that gives a big benefit to have on your machine.

I know that when you use noflashme that you have to bridge the SL1 again. What if I use the DSLink and the FWBKUPV1... do I still have the bridge the SL1 or not?

Using either the noflashme or the DSLink way... can I go back to Flashme if I like... or does it start to screw up your DSLite?

You can go back and forth any time you wish. Only screwup you can make is either stopping the unflash process (no way to recover) or hitting the evil screw next to sl1 while flashing/unflashing.

Worked great. Since DSOrganzie and DSLiveWeather now work on Slot 1 cards, I have little use for the Supercard Lite, except to use as a ram cart for Opera.

Flashed and unflashed just fine for me. No problems what so ever.

I am using the SCLite now for the Opera Broswer as well and for Gameboy/NES/Gameboy Advance games... since all the games I like work fine with the SCLite.

If I unflash my DS with the DS Link in slot 1, doesn't it mess up halfway?  I mean at the point that it erases the flashme, won't the DSLink no longer be able to run?  And same with Slot 2 carts without the passme, won't it stop working?

The FlashMe program loads entirely into the DS's RAM, so the media device is unnecessary except for loading the program in the first place.

You will be able to perform a full unflash with the DSLink, but after unflashed, you will NOT be able to run  the DSLink without a card that allows bootup on an unflashed device and will allow you to swap out with the DSLink (ie:Mk4 mini). Also, your slot2 device will not function for NDS loading unless you have a Superkey or equivalent in the device. Basically, the DS Lite will be as if it were when it came out of the retail box.

O cool, then I might consider completely unflashing it for real.  Chances are I'm going to unflash one of my friend's DSs and reflash it over and over so that I can test download play, then actually play download play.  :)
