M3 Simply/R4/Supercard DS, will all get the job done perfectly. The days of 1 card being better then others when it comes to playing DS games is over. All the "clean roms" cards have basically the same DS functionality/compatibility.

Doesn't SCDS still have a lot of outstanding issues?

For ease of use, M3/R4.  For stealth, EZV, since it can't be distinguished from a real cartridge while it's in your DS.  M3/R4/EZV are all identical in terms of compatibility - 100%.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of M3 (and therefore R4) products because of their underhanded marketing.  I would rather go with a lesser product from an honest company, but it hasn't come to that since I've got an EZV instead.  M3 claims that their competitor's products damage memory cards, and they're creating artificial competition to make it look like their prices are very good and that the M3 is a "premium" while R4 is "cheap"... when they're really the same thing.

Other companies have done this throughout modern history (Tide vs ABC laundry detergent, etc), but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I prefer the EZV because it's cheaper and does the same job.  No, it doesn't run ALL clean roms perfectly, but that's hardly a down side.  If you don't process your roms at all, you're wasting 25 percent or more of your card on empty rom space.

I don't get what stealth is about, lol. It's not like I live next to the NoA headquarters...?! lol

I like the stealthiness a lot.  Not too sure what my brain's reasoning on the subject is, but for some reason, I just like it :D

He meant that no one can tell you are using a flashcart when you put it in because the EZV is the same color, and also the microsd is side loading.  But I thought EZV can't play CV PoR for now...  Or did they patch that or something?

I think that now, most of the slot 1's all have their own advantages.  I'd go with the R4

I chose the R4.  It comes with 2 cases (white and black) so it will match your DS Lite.  It has played i believe 98% of all clean roms...the only downside is the available R4 rom trimmer has had reports of problems (i haven't tried it yet).  Other than that, the GUI is simple, but the R4 detects the best speed for your microSD card so that games play back fine.

Also, wifi works with the R4 and with some games, download play even works :)

it's been working fine for me all along.  100% no crashes

Same here.  Check my review, I haven't found a nonworking game yet.

O hmmm, interesting...  Do all games work clean, or do you patch some of them (other than lag).

O and for the question, GBATemp has that roundtable thing talking about their favourite slot 1 cart.

I read that. Two people chose the DS-Xtreme. I dunno about that one...I guess the dancing LED's are kind of cool, but I think the days of limited memory are over. The device is supposed to be the ultimate media player, and while the lights are great, 512mb of storage for music/movies/games/homebrew does not get you very far at all.

It is not a hidden fact that my personal favorite is the DS-Link. It is certainly NOT a card for everyone (you need to flash), but there are some perks that make me just love this card. One is the fact that I have had no problems with it at all (I own three...no problems yet). No issues reading cards, no issues running games (except PoR, which freezes on occasion of course), and VERY good homebrew support. The card is built solid, and I kind of like the fact that it does NOT have a mechanical microSD slot. Why? Well, there have been reports of the mechanisms failing after some time of insert/remove on the ones that do. Happened to Chishm not too long ago...

It has a fantastic menu that is beautiful, simple and quick. Yes, rom patching is required, but in my opinion *easier* than clean rom copying. I had to unzip and copy anyway (my roms are zipped), and the patcher does this behind the scenes..as well as trims. Simple patcher, no settings really except to patch right to the card. Games just work, and saving just works. The point is...it just works! :)

I may go for an R4 or M3 down the road, but for now I am completely content with the DS-Link. Future compatibility will be key here. At least I do know that the DS-Link dldi driver is mature enough to allow any homebrew that handles dldi to work....so I think I will be using it for a long long time.

Hi

I loved my supercarddsone!

Why is loved in the past tense?

Because My supecarddsone broke!

But it was FANTASTIC before it broke.

To sum it it, I reccomend the scdsone; but make sure you buy it from a place that will allow you to return the card if it breaks for no reason like mine did.
