well i ahvent had any problems with my Sandisk 1GB transflash..only non-working game i ahve tried is Castlevania PoR, the rest work fine

I think that Japanases-made Kingstons are the best. Watch out for the Hong Kong ones, they seem to be of inferior quality.

i am using a PNY 1GB microsd.

the automatic detection sets it to 30 speed.

the castlevania dos intro runs absolutely smooth.

I believe the fast 1gb microSD cards from Japan are re badged Toshiba's.
Every game runs silky smooth for me with these.

Patriot Memory 1gb microSD  (Purchased at Meijer)
SD-C01G JAPAN    <--written on the microSD card
30                        <-- supercard ds autodetect speed

Dane-Elec 1gb microSD (Purchased at Target)
SD-C01G JAPAN    <--written on the microSD card
30                        <-- supercard ds autodetect speed

The Kingston's from Japan bare the same writing.
I also have a 2gb Sandisk but it was autodetected at 5 : (

Toshiba will have its 2gb microSD out around April.

I live by Transcend cards. I have owned these cards ranging from CF, SD, Mini, and now microSD. They always work great, and are rock solid...not to mention very friendly on the wallet

None of the Transcend I have sold (sourced directly from Transcend) worked with any of the Slot-1 cards I sell.
All the Sandisks work fine.
All of the companies that have re-branded the Toshiba cards and contain the 1GB Toshiba part (marked SD CO1G) work fine (at Speed 30 on the DS ONE).

p.s. I still think it's all about the quality of the firmware and so, if the firmware is updated, cards that previously did not work, will.

Hong Kong is fake, Taiwan is inferior and Japan is the best.  Where are you ordering from, you should ask beforehand.

Taiwan whats?  Sandisks Kingstons?  They aren't that big of a difference for Sandisks at least...
