well i just ordered a new micro sd card for my scdsone (Toshiba 1GB Japan SD-C01G) to replace my Transcend 80x
which worked fine but it only got a x2 on the auto speed setup which is just not good enough so its going in my camera
i hear the toshiba (SD-C01G) gets a x30 in the auto speed setup which is what i want :D

ill have to change my sig again when my new card comes

I have a Japan-origin SD-C01G and it won't even boot up in the SCDS1, despite working fine and getting good benchmarks on my PC via various readers.

Conversely a Sandisk non-ultra 512Mb card boots up, although a lot of games are very slow.

Both work 100% perfect in my R4DS.

So I think SD compatibility can be quite hit and miss with the DS1....

i got my toshiba (SD-C01G) yesterday & it auto speed set to 30x
i tryed AC:WW without formating to FAT/64k clusters & it run perfectly

my old card stuttered with AC:WW before i formated to FAT/64k clusters

sneef

funny.  i have the same toshiba card, and without formatting to FAT w/ 64k clusters, it doesn't play that fast.

It doesn't stutter but it is not like the original cart (which I also own)

jmr

ive found the toshiba is way better than my Transcend was
the Transcend still had some slowdown in diddy kong racing even though it was formatted FAT/64k
but the toshiba never
i have formatted the toshiba to FAT/64k now just for peace of mind cause i know it faster

toshiba version of the  kingston micro sd, made in japan will be the thing of the past, their new version has the same printing, but removed the SD-C01G model number and has taiwan printed instead of japan.

is your transcend the 80x 512MB, or the 1GB version (which isn't as fast)

jmr

yeah my old card was the transcend 80x 512MB
dont get me wrong it was a good card till i got diddy kong & i noticed it taking a while to load new levels (going in & out of level doors)
i had it set at x16 i maybe should have tryed it at a higher setting for diddy kong
but i needed a new card for my camera cause i was sick of swapping the one out of my pocket pc (o2 xda exec)
i got the toshiba after seeing the review at gbatemp & it got a 9 out of 10 & could be set to x30 plus it was only £12 delivered

Question for you guys with Toshiba's (sneef, jmr, cgrieves)

Where did you buy them? I just brought one off ebay... *kill me* :|
Hope it's actually made in Japan with the x30 speed...

Ebay Seller

There were other sellers that clearly show their microsd cards being from Japan, but they were all shipped from Hong Kong... The buyer I got it from was the ONLY U.S. dealer...

-R4DS - 1gb Sandisk (cn)

I got my Kingston card from Bamboo Gaming.
Their site says made in Japan, and that's what I got.
Formatted as FAT with 64k clusters and away we go.

UPDATE ON  "Adata 2gb Super Series microSD"  max 17 Castlevania: PoR working great no slow down works better than my "2gb san disk" (I'm happy)
and AC:WW same as san disk loading to title is slow.
