who ever made it, is just mean...seriously these things cost alot of money and for someone to "brick" it on you coz your trying to run homebrew imo is just wrong..we're all trying to learn more and more and progress the scene..and then this kinda crap pops up and causes problems.

update on site:

Quote#     Do not, I repeat DO NOT run any Homebrew on your Nintendo DS, GBAMP, SUPERCARD until the below situation is resolved. DarkFader, the person who cracked the Nintendo DS, was behind the creation of the NeoFlash, the MAN who ran the Nintendo DS ROM release group GST (Golden Sun Team) has released a small program that will erase your Nintendo DS firmware, GBAMP firmware and/or your SuperCard Firmware and the release is supported and endorsed by the DSDEV (#dsdev) community of dev's (who most receieve free NeoFlash devkits) and have been payed off by NeoFlash to, in this instance, litterly KILL the competition.
# The code used in the original bricking application has been ripped and now is being added to other homebrew and romsso if you run one without checking it first you'll end up with a dead Nintendo DS, GBAMP and/or SuperCard. This is a verycounter-productive move on the Nintendo DS's Development Community as their code to disrupt piracy (which they helped create) is now being used in their own programs!
# Just image going to run NESDS and having your Nintendo DS die! Luckily, if you use the FlashMe Firmware replacement for the Nintendo DS you can recover from this deadly attack by booting up the system any holding "A+B+START+SELECT" then loading the Firmware from a flashcart other then your SuperCard (as it's most likely been destroyed).

Neoflash eh? Who'd of thought they'd try something so dirty?

Hi guys, im posting on just about any ds forum i can find.
as you all know darkfader is the blame for all this, and believe it or not but many people over at dsdev praise this bricker.

surely this isnt legal, destroying peoples property.
just becasue sales of his own flashcart brand Neoflash have dropped, why should we all suffer for this.
its pathetic the way hes trying to eliminate competition.

I feel that this should be said considering how people are saying #dsdev supports the bricker…

I, BigRedPimp, am the founder of #dsdev on EFNet. Rumor has been going around that the bricker app (which renders stock Nintendo DS units useless) is supported by the ops of my channel. This is not the case. The fact of the matter is that I am disgusted with certain individuals who not only created it but condone its creation by saying “because I can”. This, to be blunt, is bullshit. You are single-handedly making it hard to trust anyone out there looking for help on their current work. Why someone would create an “app” that would turn a US$120+ portable device into a paperweight is beyond me. I think this individual needs a serious reality check. Just because you can afford a DS whenever you want one doesn’t give you the FUCKING RIGHT to destroy the rest of ours. I’ll be expecting some sort of retort for this but I don’t care.

In closing, I reiterate the point that the staff of EFNet #dsdev does NOT condone the use of the bricker in any way, shape or form. Support positive development, not destructive. That is all.

DeVS

Well I went ahead and did the flashme incase I ever run accross this thing and I got to say I feel silly for not doing flashme alooong time ago. It makes the DS look much cleaner by not having that big ass thing sticking out the top of the ds,lol.

yeah ... but you will still need a flashcard to restore the firmware if is was bricked..  supercard wont work anymere..

socket

still... that's better than having a dead ds.

I to am a little confused?!?!  Is it only homebrew stuff you have to worry about messing up your ds?  I just bought a superpass and if i only use it to put games on my ds do i have to worry about messing it up?

Btw, I don't see anything newer than the GBM on the front page. Should I?  :?

there's a new FORUM..  not the 'news' page..

but even on the news page, there's something newer than the micro.  there's a warning about the 'bricker'..  looks like it was cut and pasted from brakken's warning

All code from untrusted sources can be a danger, which means either homebrew or inofficial patch tools could cause problems, just using clean commercial roms together with the official sdcard patch tools or another patch tool you trust should be save. There might of course also pop up commercial rooms with a bricker attached in the near future, so just downloading random commecial roms isn't really save either.

sneef

now the console manufacturers (nintendo and sony) have a perfect excuse to stomp out homebrew. Doesn't this "prove" what sony was saying from the beginning about the PSP? That their anti-homebrew firmware upgrades were for the protection of the user...

when they said that, I thought, "what garbage"... but now, they have a valid argument, thanks to idiots in the PSP and NDS homebrew scene who think it's funny to brick people's machines
