Ok, I am sure this question has been asked and answered a billion times so I apologize in advance but I can't find a link.

I want to save off the games from my collection of DS games (originals) so I can play them off my SCSD...

Can someone please provide a link to a faq or directions to do this?

Use Rein or Reinmoon

Ok, I got Rein DS up and running and it creates a little file. what do I do w/ that save file? Do I need to convert it with something?

rename it and put it onto your SCDS micro card .  Name to match game on SCDS

I did this but it says the file is damaged.  I noticed its only 8K too.  What does that mean?

I think that they want to backup his original Slot1 carts (ie the entire ROM, not the savegame).  As far as I know the only application to do this is by WRG and only works with CF.
