Quote from: "look"get a linux box/hosting account and a copy of the sig and your infected rom in the same directory and run that command

it will spew out the sig as output

You can also install Cygwin if you want to run grep in Windows.

Quote from: "DeVS"They all know/knew the risk in tampering with the DS. The ones bitching about being out $125 are the same ones that say FU to game companys by downloading roms, they dont care if someone us out money unless it's themselves. Dont give us the crap about hombrew this or that, 99% of the market for mod chips in any console is for 1 purpose, free games, homebrew is a nice side affect. If you bricked your DS then just take it as payback for all the games, movies and mp3's you download illegaly, lol, and wait for a fix to come out.

to quote 754boy in reply to your reply:  "let's see if you would be saying that if your DS was one of the ones that got F'd up"  seriously, it's easy to have such a calm and rational outlook on things when it wasn't your property that got ruined, REGARDLESS of the ethics of how you used the property.

I agree that it's unfair to the game developers and publishers to use illegal roms (and not ethical, if you enjoy a game and never intend to buy it)...  But since when did it become okay for people to execute vigilante justice?  leave that to the game companies and the hardware manufacturers.  I don't think it would be ok for me to go out and regulate justice on people who are listening to illegal mp3's by taking their ipods and smashing them..  is this very different?

So if it were nintendo that released this you would be ok with it? And again I dont agree with it being released, I just dont think that anyone (even myself) who got hit can really complain too  much.

I think it sucks that it's out there and that some property was destroyed, too... but, it's part of the game.  Don't run unverified software.  Only run what you trust.  If, for example, DarkFader would have used his name to trick people into installing it, his reputation would have been entirely destroyed.  The fact is, it only happened to unsafe pirates.  If you dont watch yourself it's your own fault.  If I found a mystery bottle on the side of the road that said "Drink me and I'll give you super strength" or something, and drank it, I dont think I could really blame anyone but myself if I got sick.

I never thought about it that way. It would have been cool if Nintendo had released since they would have been protecting their property. But since it came from the guy who pretty much singlehandedly started the DS scene, it was totally hypocritical.

QuoteTakes a big man to admit his mistakes.

A Big Man is not who does such vile things only to be at the centre of the Scene, is a" filty quxxr" yes a "filty crying qxxr"  , now crawling to be forgiven, while he perhaps is preparing another burning-hardware apps, who has been its DS destroyed is not thinking of it as a Big Man, aonly as A Big Baxxxxd won't never become a Big Man ...

only to give justice in the Scene, bye to all!

sorry for my vukgar xx covered language, but sometimes we need it! 8)

I can't stop thinking... if he can write a bricker without having us short the jumper, why do we still need to short the jumper when we are doing the FlashMe?
nimal Crossing :
Larson" from "Havenile" of Zip code "0816-6534-7899".
Mario Kart DS : 519750-640786 (Larson)
Tony Hawk : 137499-350825 (Larson)

PM me if you added me!

Its only the first 64k or something of the firmware that is protected. Thats why flashme puts a backup there.... thats why you need to short the jumper to install flashme but why bricker can overwrite the rest..

LargePig

I thanked him in my post "FAO: DarkFader" on the www.supercard.cn forum before having a go about the Bricker. I think everyone appreciates the work he had done up until now. But nobody appreciates the bricker.
