Farkin' hypocrite.
Yeah, like you didn't help usher in the DS piracy with so-called "homebrew".
all that garbage ... i hope this new rep never fades away.

As for piracy, I bet i own more DS games than 95% of the DS owners.  I buy games that score high that I enjoy.

Same with the PSP.  "Homebrew" my ass.  Emulators use roms and those roms are STILL copyprotected.  Media functions for pirated videos you BT'ed off the web.  Illegal mp3s you don't own the original media for.  The list goes on and on.

Once the ability to run unlicensed code is doable, it always leads to piracy.

Well said, and there should be no argument here.  The "vicitims" are lucky that DF is evening trying to help out, because that is unusual from a provider of a trojan.

Quote from: "DeVS"They all know/knew the risk in tampering with the DS. The ones bitching about being out $125 are the same ones that say FU to game companys by downloading roms, they dont care if someone us out money unless it's themselves. Dont give us the crap about hombrew this or that, 99% of the market for mod chips in any console is for 1 purpose, free games, homebrew is a nice side affect. If you bricked your DS then just take it as payback for all the games, movies and mp3's you download illegaly, lol, and wait for a fix to come out.

Dont they have a hentai version of the virus going around too, some people have porn addictions and they too are being punished

Well it displays a pic of hentai, its not being put out as a file that is named Hentai.nds or Porn.nds, thats just the pic he choose to display. The other variation shows a pic of a brick wall, so I guess we should feel sorry for construction works who love looking at brick walls cause they couldn resist a pick of a brick wall.

Question: has anyone attempted to sue darkfader?

He definately deserves it, it's not like everyone who might of used it was a stone cold pirate who screws nintendo in the ass because they don't want to pay for games.

What the fcuk kind of person screws people over because he's disgruntled?

Luckily I know to check things before I use them.

About the piracy issue. I use my Superpass mainly to play games I would never have the opportunity to play normally. For me, importing Jump Superstars is not financially responsible. This lets me live out my dream. I may have put Castlevania on my Superpass. But I loved it so much that I went out an dbought the real game. I have 9 DS games in total if you count the Metroid Demo. I think that what DarkFader did is inexcusable. He ruined the costly invstments of other people.
On the positive note, about 80% of what is on my CF card for my Supercard is homebrew or legally owned music. It's my multipurpose solution. I love it.

Ever hear the trial about the robber who tripped and sued the poeple he was robbing?

A class action suit against DarkFader is a complete possibility and should be taken into account.

I wonder how people, who think it's all 'our own fault', would react if they put some newly downloaded MP3's on their Ipod and suddenly discover that their music player went to heaven.

Bottom line is anytime you do ANYTHING illegal or shady you know there is potenital to consequences.

Yeah I've heard of it.  And I think it is one of the most fucked up retarded cases ever.  Oh well.

DeVS

You can try and sue anyone for anything, doesnt mean that you wont get laughed out of court. Also good luck finding a lawyer to represent you.

Wanna know who won the case of the robber tripping and breaking his leg?

The robber won, want to know why? Because no matter what he did wrong or was doing wrong, it's still their fault that he tripped.

of course it could be done, he's admitted to creating code for the purpose of harming DS systems.  It's even pretty likely the case could be won.

However the lengths he's gone to to end his virus pretty much limit his actual damage to a handful (if any?) bricked supercard units.  Considering that the repair instructions he's posted were at the technical level required to install the trojan in the first place.  What was the filename HE distributed?  if it was 'brickme' or 'brickmaker' or similar than his program wasn't even much of a trojan, and was just doing what it said it would.

and if he's sued, he won't bother ever doing anything else for the DS scene.
