Get two white screens running Flashme

I'm tiring to run Flashme, but I just get two white screens.

I have the SuperKey in slot 1 and ,of course, my Supercard is in slot 2.  When I turn on the power I get the Supercard GUI.  flashme_patched.nds is the only thing listed.  I hit "A" and both screens go white, and stay that way.

Here is what I have:

    - NDS Lite
    - Supercard Lite Rumble MicroSD upgraded to v1.7 (tried with original firmware (1.63?) and had the same problem)
    - SuperKey
    - Flashme 7 patched for the Supercard.  Downloaded from here
http://rapidshare.com/files/15054659/flashme_patched.nds.html
- Patriot 1Gig MicroSD formated with FAT (not FAT32)
[/list]

I'd really appreciate some suggestions.

Thanks.

I'd try running the original unpatched version of flashme.nds; if you still get white screens try "patching" it yourself with something like dsbuild ( rename the ds.gba file it produces to .nds ) or my supercard magic patcher

Thanks for the quick reply.

I thought about trying that too, but I can't find the un-patched version.  I've Googled for it but everything seems to point to the same link http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/flashme.nds.  That link is bad.  I get "404 Not Foud".

Anybody know were I can get the un-patched version of Flashme?

**EDIT** Just found it here: http://www.dspassme.com/FlashMe.shtml

I'll give it a try and let you know.  Thanks Again!

Using the un-patched version did the trick!

Thanks for the help.

You could also have downloaded it from the stickied thread at the GBAdev forums, just for future reference.

I just have a question:  how big of a file was the one you used?  There's one somewhere that's around 200-250 kb and one that's double that size.  Use the larger one, as it allows for DS Lite brightness controls (which even works on DS Phats with firmware 5 and above).

Thanks for the info dantheman!  I was wondering why the brightness wasn't working.  The file I uses was indeed only 270k.

I found this tinyurl link in that forum: http://tinyurl.com/h2cgf/

It links to a zip file with three versions of flashme7:
    flashme.nds = 538,185 bytes
    flashme_stealth.nds = 538,185 bytes (bingo!)
    noflashme.nds = 1,584,201 bytes
I have two questions:
1) I assume flashme_stealth is the one I want (to get rid of the health and safety screen).  But can I just flash it over the version I have in my DS now?
2) What is noflashme.nsd?

dantheman

Actually flashme.nds is the one you want if you want to get rid of the Health and Safety screen.  Flashme_stealth leaves the screen intact so that it's difficult to tell that FlashMe is even installed, so it's somewhat stealthy.  Either way, you can just reflash over your old installation, and most likely you will not need to short SL1 again.  I can freely flash between FlashMe and FlashMe_stealth without having to re-short SL1.

NoFlashMe removes FlashMe from your system, replacing it with an original DS firmware.  This removes the failsafe code, so if your DS powers off in the final ~10% or so of the process, it may be unrecoverable.

Also, if you have a DS Lite and want to unflash, make sure you use NoFlashMeLite.nds (not included in that download) as the regular noflashme.nds file causes issues when used on Lites.

Most people usually just install FlashMe_stealth before sending their DS systems into Nintendo for warranty repairwork rather than unflashing, and I don't think there have been any reports of Nintendo rejecting a DS because of it.

I installed the larger flashme version without incident. (I did have to short SL1 - no biggie)

Thanks for your help dantheman and ratx.
