well im getting an R4 to replace my SCSD soon, in fact its gunna be ordered next week, and i was wondering if i had to convert my sav files in anyway or is it simply just dragging my saves over to the my microsd card?

What kind of format does the SCSD save in? If it's just in .sav format, than all you'll have to do is drag and drop. If it's anything else, you can just use the R4 save converter.
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

use that since sc saves are 256KB and R4 saves are 512KB you need to convert them using that software.

thanks for telling me about this, ill download it now so i have everything i need for when it arrives

They are both RAW save formats. If you didn't want to use a program I believe you could simply just pad your existing saves to 512k as well.

well i dont really know how to pad files so i'll just stick to using the program
