Can you connect to the Internet with other wifi homebrew?  DSOrganize would be a good one to test, as I know it uses the updated Wifi libs that work on all DS systems.

Hm, and the port has been forwarded in your router, right?  Have you checked your firewall to make sure netcat is given unrestricted access to the Internet?

Hickey

Yes, and yes, however, after you asked about the DSOrganize connectivity...I just tested it, and for some reason it does not work now, even though it has worked in the past. Hmm...I also tested a Wi-Fi game, and it connected just fine.

dantheman

Hm, so homebrew isn't working but commercial games are.  Sounds like a DHCP issue to me.  All your WFC settings are manual and not automatic, right?  Have you tried checking the two threads I linked to in the first post concerning wireless with homebrew?

Hickey

Yes, they are manual...I briefly looked at them, but didn't find them much help...I'll look at them again.

Hickey

Well, I checked  http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=10320, and everything seems to be good on the DS Settings. Where should I go from there?

dantheman

I don't really know what the issue is then.  SSID broadcasting is enabled, right?  That's the last thing I can think of that would stop homebrew from connecting.

Hickey

Yes, it's enabled. I'm really puzzled that it's not working now...The DSOrganize browser used to work, but I don't know what happened.

Hickey

Aha! I got some progress. Now I get an error saying "Error opening config file!" I'll check it, but I'm pretty sure it's fine..

dantheman

That implies to me that either your syntax is wrong or you didn't DLDI patch correctly or didn't put it in the right place.  It's in (root)\data\settings\savsender.conf right?  Also make sure it's not named savesender.conf, as that was a mistake I first made.  Also ensure that it's savsender.conf and not savsender.conf.txt or something.

Hickey

Yup, it was the .txt. It worked. Thank you so much for being patient with me and the problems I had.

Read my previous posts in this topic.  The only option for managing GBA saves without a linker cable is Cart_Save, but it doesn't work too well on the Supercard.  Theoretically if someone ports cart_save to the DS, it would be possible to use a slot-1 device to manage GBA saves, but no one has done this so far.

I found a way using any GBA and a SMS memory stick... it's a little long winded but works a treat.

I have a 8meg SMS stick for GBA saves, and with a supercard it is possible to get a gba save off.

1) insert game you want save off, check it boots ok (my gba sp is a bit tempremental!)
2) insert SMS stick, boot GBA to multiboot and it will launch SMS menu
3) backup save to SMS Stick & turn off
4) on supercard slot 2 device memory card have a blank .sav file to dump your save into
5) insert supercard slot 2 into GBA, boot - again make sure it loads supercard menu (damn my dodgy cart slot!)
6) insert SMS stick, boot GBA to multiboot and it will launch SMS menu
7) Restore save to supercard, this puts your original save in the slot 2 devices Ram
8) on SMS menu choose boot game (don't power off to do this or you loose the save)
9) in supercard menu press R to goto saver menu then click your blank .sav file and choose SAVE

All Done !

Now you'll ask why on earth I did this, well I did it the other way round when I got fed up with slow Final Fantasy on my supercard ! and back the otherway when I wanted to backup my XGFlash 2 128mbit saves - that cheap cart had no way to backup saves !

I can't seem to get netcat to work.  I start it up via cmd prompt, and I type the following

nc.exe -l -p 5000 < pkmndiamond.sav

When I hit enter, it says, "nc.exe: forward host lookup failed: h_errno 11001: HOST_NOT_FOUND"

Can anyone help?  I have my firewall turned off and opened the ports on the wireless router.

It's obviously a problem with netcat because I can use savreciever for dumping.  Too bad it doesn't send saves back >.<  Is there some kind of alternative to netcat that I can use?

Hi, I'm really new to this program of savesender. I was wnering if anyone can help me with working this program. I have read the tutorials on the forums, but its still not working. I do not know what to do after I have successfully dumped a save. After it says "sending eeprom data...done", what do I do from there? Do I access the "savefile.sav" and place it into my flashcart?  I also have a ds-xtreme. I know I need to use the save converter site, but what do i place as my source and target format? Please help?
