That is very strange.  It appears that you're doing everything correctly, so it may be a bug in the program.  I'd go to the GBAdev thread and mention it there.  Hopefully the programmer will have an idea as to what the issue is.

It seems that the website for downloading savsender is currently down. Is there anywhere else I can obtain this? I am very eager to back my saves up as I have a nasty habit of loosing things.

Thanks!

Just an update:

I'm an idiot.

I had to buy a new router, because my old one bit the dust. Well, my stupid self never set up my DS (or the Wii, for that matter), to work with it. So, after I switched to WEP (for the DS), and set it to mixed mode, everything went through as it should. Sheesh, I feel like an expert on the situation now, seeing as how I tried everything I could before doing the obvious.

Hm, I have my cart's save on my PC - I was able to dump it and put it back fine - but i have a question.
I need to put my Pokemon R4 save (to work with the wii game :() on my friends cart - I can get his .sav off the cart fine. I can also put it back on, but how would I get my R4 sav on it? Will it matter what I name the savfile.sav on the ds cart? And do I need to convert my R4 .sav to work with Pokemon Diamond's cart?
If my R4 .sav doesn't need to be converted, I should be able to just reboot and go, correct? No problems overwriting my R4 save with his real save when I'm done?
Thanks :/ Sorry if I'm confusing.

I'm interested in this program, as I may finally be able to use my age old Japanese Pearl file on an English cart, but I have a question.

Throughout this thread, it seems that everyone is using a router. Is it possible to do this with a Nintendo USB Connector?

If so, how I would find the port to use to transfer my saves back and forth?

EDIT: It doesn't seem like there is a method to locate the port number a USB device is using, nor does it seem like Nintendo Wi-Fi USB can use port forwarding either.

Unless there's some magical program/method that I haven't heard yet. I'd appreciate it if someone confirmed if what I'm saying is true.

androssfox:  You said you can dump/restore the cart's save file fine, which is good.  Make a backup of it first in case the R4 save doesn't work.  As long as both files are the same size, they should be interchangeable, and you should be able to transfer the R4 save directly to his cartridge.  It can be named anything you wish as long as the syntax of the command is correct.

Crimson_Phoenix:  you must first turn it into a SoftAP for it to work with any homebrew.  See the GBAdev thread my first post links to in order to find out more information on this.  I'm not entirely sure if the port forwarding step is even necessary - I just put it in the guide to be safe.  Perhaps it will work with a Wifi stick once it's been turned into a SoftAP.

I'm having the same problem as someone earlier, where savsender says "connecting to server..error!" then proceeds to send the EEPROM, which just sits for hours and doesn't finish. A dialog box comes up on my computer that says there is an ip conflict with two systems on the network. I have my WFC settings to manual, the only thing I think I haven't done is made sure the port I'm using is open (and I don't know how to properly set up port fowarding, I just set the WAN range 5000-5000 and LAN to 5000). Any help?

I cant say for savsender as I dont have a soft AP, just an unmodded usb wifi connector. But for those who wanna just send a r4 sav back to the original cart regardless of name or size, try using reinmoon or the slot 2 file mentioned here http://www.scdev.org/forum/index.php?topic=11100.0. Unfortunately, you will need a slot 2 card in addition to your r4 acting as a passme.
Wanna wifi? PM me and get my wifi codes here:

I used the tutorial and program just fine to get the .SAV files to my computer.  I tried to drag and drop them over to my memory card to load onto my R4 and when I booted up with the R4 and tried to load the games but they say the .SAV file is corrupt.  I'm thinking I'm missing a step in putting these onto my R4 to use.  Any help?

You probably have to convert the R4 format first.  I think the R4 comes with a converter, and if not you can try the various savegame conversion tools out there.  There's also the Shunyweb online converter but I don't think that handles raw save files (at least it didn't last time I checked).

More than likely, you can just pad the file up to 512 kb using empty bytes.

Yup that was the problem...I actually ended up finding a program called SAVRreceiver.  IT WAS AMAZING.  It's way easier than using netcat and it will automatically convert them to your card type while pulling them.  I would recommend changing the tutorial to use that program.

Thanks for the help!!
