Woah!

apologies If you think I'm sounding like a fan boy and I didn't mean to post something out of sorts in this thread - bitblt I agree - the supercard does do many things no other card does.

RatX's updated skin patcher is a nice addition too, I was wondering is the OS open source (like moonshell) or is it just based on moonshell - SCDSONE would shine if people got the chance to customise the OS itself!

Yes, for the most part  the Supercard OS is open source . . .

Romman and the Supercard team have released source code for the SCDS1 including code used to launch commercial ROMs from the Moonshell OS menu. This source code could be incorporated into DSOrganize and other homebrew.

But that would require DragonMinded to get into file-save-size and stuff like this that even the Supercard Team can't fully manage to get a 100%-no-assle-working-solution.

the easy solution is to set to make all saves files at maximum size.. like r4 do .. but take some space that may be used for something else like homebrews!

meangreenie

or you can just set save size to max... complicated that is

Dai_uk asked a question and I answered. The SCDS1 moonshell OS is open source. The microkernel is not open source. People need to understand SCDS1 does not require the save size to be set with games already in the database.  When a new game comes out you can always choose 4M save size when in doubt. Once the save size has been set you never have  to set it again. It's not a big deal. The only hassle here is you Cygoku. I suggest you back off before you self destruct.

Thanks,

it's pretty awesome that the os is open source as it means someone could write an os replacement, i love ds organise even though through my own fault it usually ends up with me reformatting my memory card (i tried to re-name all my roms!).

I like what moonshell does but the interface is a little awkward. I wish i had the time and inclination to learn to program DS !

Imagine, an os more like xbox media centre meets dso with beup, email and skinability ! guess I could spend the rest of my life trying !

the open source part of this exites me :-)

thanks for the answers,

Maybe you could get the saver size to the biggest (512kb?) and have an option to change it.   In my opinion, I think the SCDS1 should be like that too

Well, I don't really say much around here.....ok I do lol but for some reason you seem to be EXTREMELY biased against the SCDS1, particularly that feature. I mean how hard is it to set the EXACT saver size for a game. And you only have to do it for the game once.
