I didn't mean that in a bad way. I mean that has an easy to use interface, which is great for n00bs who are just discovering flashcarts.

The R4 was the first card to actually INTERRUPT a DS game IN PROGRESS and run code (the R4 interface).  They could have just as easily ran some other code (cheat, guides, whatever).  And yes, it's incredible that without ANY patching of I/O vectors or any rom modifications that the R4 was capable of doing this.

Are you talking about IGR?  That isn't the same thing because the game doesn't resume.  As far as I know R4 does not support in progress game INTERRUPT and RESUME like SCDS1. The SCDS1 has supported IGR and cheat with clean dump ROMs without patching since January.

Also, has someone tested the card for 100% compatibility? I know team R4 JUST got a couple of obscure japanese titles working. Have those been tested on SCDS1? I simply don't believe in "100% compatibility" (R4 included) and anyone claiming so I tend to discredit (I've been around long enough)

Yeah, everyone claims 100% compatibility. To me 100% compatibility means the games are playable and start without getting white screens. Some games may exhibit slowdown or minor glitches, although I noticed Animal Crossing is almost perfect now. Using high speed microSD (like Kingston Japan) the SCDS1 has 100% compatibility including obscure Japanese titles, and including Ultimate Spiderman. When SCDS1 was first released some people had problems with some games using slow microSD (including me), because they didn't understand how to adjust speed settings, on-the-fly speed patch, and save size. Most of this stuff is automatic now.

Here is DjoeN's slot2 Supercard compatibility list. I sorted the list highlighting the few ROMs that don't work with slot2 Supercards. SCDS1 is compatible with all of them.

Of course R4 is patching vectors and modifying ROMs, it's doing this on-the-fly like SCDS1. How else would IGR and such work?

I've never denied that R4 is easy to use or less expensive than SCDS1.  R4 is good solution with nice skins. SCDS1 is superior in functionality.  You get what you pay for.

Thank you.  Facts I mentionned before are the only things that makes feel like the SCDS1 is still an unfinished product.

I have both and I prefer the R4/M3, the SC is "tweakable" but I loose patience with having to do this out of necessity !

The SCDS does have lots of cool features - like the fact you can boot the browser without patching but I'm struggling to enjoy it more as they really needed to move away from needing to know which options to make which game run! - it's a nice to have just in case but as I said earlier a pain in the backside to do most the time!

still maybe they have something up their sleeve, my SCCF does a hell of a lot more now than it did when I had a gba, I just worry we'll have a similar flaw to the ram speed - which could never be fixed but was denied by the SC team

[rant]Yeah, the flaming and fanboyism shit is really getting on my last nerve. Fanboyism IS jumping into a SCDS1 2.0 update thread talking crap about how R4/M3 is better. You don't see me jumping into a R4 update thread talking about how SCDS1 is super 1337. It's irritating and immature and I would expect some of you to know better. If you want to voice your opinion about how uber R4 skins are then post in a R4 thread, or a R4/SCDS1 comparison thread. Everything I've stated here is fact not opinion. SCDS1 has more features than any slot1 available today, including being the first in the industry to support in game suspend and resume. If you can't hack your way out of a wet paper bag then I would recommend R4.[/rant]

I'd like to add both cards are better at some things than the other and both are similar price to retail carts.. we all made our choice as to which suited our needs best. Live with that choice.
