I go to some rom site and search for the game, the id will be in the filename

I believe most ROM rename utilities like OfflineList will have that information in its database.

actually I am looking for the game ids that are needed for M3 simply cheat editor.
I haven't seen the codes in the offline lists.  I mean it lists some, but I don't think it is the ones that I need.
Remember the old superpass 2 software, it mentions the game ids, but it only has the first 4 letters, at least the newest version which is all the official sc site has for download.

I'm at work so I'm not sure, but I think there is a check box in the renaming options of OfflineList to display that information.  You can also just open the xml file and eye scan the data for the codes. I could be wrong. There is another program but I can't remember.

here is the info from xml for yoshi touch & go below.  that is the game id that I would like to know.
I own the game too and on the back there are AYIE
and then some letters and numbers on the back.
But they don't match-up the way the game-id codes for m3 simply cheat editor asks, and it has a demo of mario kart, so I checked my copy mario kart and compared to the example xml for m3 editor and the game code from editor is  <gameid>AMCE 59604513</gameid>
but on my game it has AMCE NOJ22
so I don't have an idea where the rest of the numbers come from.  in the offline list it doesn't match ethier of those.
the m3 editor has 8 numbers for every game after the first 4 letters.
and I checked the superpas 2 v10 and v20 software and it only list the 4 letters for each game, but that list only goes upto about 330 or around there.

You will find lots of codes A-Z here . . .
http://us.codejunkies.com/codes_show.asp?rf=0&c=GB&cr=&cs=&r=0&l=&g=17825805&p=17

I think AMCE is the actual game ID, and 59604513 is appended to the end to name the cheat. I'm pretty sure NOJ22 is irrelevant. I hope that helps?

yeah, actually I usually just use that site, but they don't have codes for yoshi touch & go, but I did find them somewhere else that were codebreakers codes.  I was going to try and use a converter to convert to AR then add with editor, but I can't get editor to requenize the rom when the finished product is done.
codebreaker codes below.
