My vote goes for the R4DS, as it just works, not to mention the cheat code support with easy import from Action Replay XML files is absolutely amazing.

Agreed. Go with the R4/M3 Simply. Just make sure to get yourself a fast microsd.
Setup:

on asking which slot1 card to get myself and on the advice of others here ...I recently ordered an R4  :D

reason is it sets the saves AUTOMATICALLY :)

It saves messsing about doing it manually :)

But .... M3 and R4 are practically identical hardware internally as far as I know or read around on the net so both are good options  :)

other factors of influence would be PRICE  :)

If you are on a budget then go for whichevers cheapest .. If you have no limit then go for personal preference or read the specs on each card carefully and DO read threads on this forum and others  :)

dantheman

It does that "automatic" save setting by simply using the maximum size for each game.  It's easier but uses up more space.  Then again, space is fairly cheap, so it's not too big of a deal.  Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages.

But :) must :D you :o use :p a :x smiley ;) after  every :) sentence :? you  write?

I"m wondering about this too. I have a couple 1GB Kingston Japans already. But I really want to get one of these new 2GB Kingstons. But I don't know if they're Japan made or not.

Does anyone know if the 2GB's come in Taiwan and Japanese, like the 1GB's?

Thanks

all the kingston 2 Gb micro sd are made in taiwan (still toshiba made) so far, but you can get the toshiba 2 GB micro sd which is made in japan, and just to let you know, the read speed is very fast.

I got the toshiba one, but so far can't find a kingston (made in japan).

Yeah that kinda sucks, for 20 games you'd have 10MB of saves, I'd like to have the option to choose the save size if I want to, of course you can always edit the saves yourself to inflate/deflate them, but it's a pain
SC CF + 1GB Kingston CF + flashed NDS = a whole lot of fun.

Thank you for the info kms.

Here's a couple more questions:

Would you tell me where specifically you got your 2GB Toshiba Japan? Are they all Japan made?

And you've ran the problem games on it, like PoR, DoS, Downhill Jam? If so, did they run as good as the 1GB Japan card?

Thanks for any more info.

I live in hong kong and the cards are readly available, all toshiba micro 2 Gb are made in japan, kingston like to use OEM (toshiba made in japan/taiwan).
the toshiba reads at a speed of about 18MB but the write speed is similar to that of 1 GB.
I have'nt try catlevania, I dont really like that game.

update:-tested, both castlevania works fine.

Cool, thank you for testing out both Castlevavia's.
