Is there any supercard software, i.e. a .nds binary, that dumps a clean ROM from a game straight to SD card? If no, is this possible?

dantheman

Not to SD, no.  There is one dumper I know of that works on CF devices, and the FWNITRO firmware replacement can dump to CF devices, but nothing newer than that.

Hi

And even the one for CF cards one has to flash there firmware. Not to mention that it's hard to use. Shame in my opinion...  :(

:( That's a shame. I was about to ask whether it was even possible but I guess it is and some people just prefer keeping secrets to helping others.

Dudu.exe

chishm is one of the most importamp menber in homebrew community, and HE and other in this community, do not support piracy!

It was the first step of creating Nitro Hax, yes.  However, he has said that he does not wish to release the source for that part because he is against DS piracy.  Granted, he does visit PocketHeaven, but only occasionally.

He also once showed a demo of the GBA Movie Player running a DS rom, but did not tell how for the same reason, so he was kinda mad when the Triforce hacked version of Max Overlord was released.

I wouldn't say he "prefers keeping secrets to helping others" though.  He feels that releasing such information would go against his morals, and I respect him for that.  Given the numerous other contributions he HAS made to the scene, I would definitely say that he enjoys helping others with DS coding and such.

Hi

Agreed. I just don't get his reasoning... why make a rom dumper (or  commercial rom loader) and then not realise it because he doesn't support piracy? Why make a rom dumper (or loader) in the first place?

Again, he needed to do it in order to develop Nitro Hax.  See his large post at http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=12622&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45 for some interesting reading.

Hi

Thanks for the link.

Just like to comment a tiny bit, I'm a pirate, but I don't think I do damage. With every thing I download, I take note of it, remind myself of what I'm doing, and thank nintendo.

I also support Nintendo- I don't buy a game for each game I pirate but I think I buy enouph that I am can say I'm not, overall doing any harm. And I'm not whining ether. Nintendo has sucked a lot of my hard earned money out of my wallet. They diserve it to. True, if I was not a pirate nintendo would make more $$ off me then they do now, but they have made money off me and enouph of it.

Oh, anyone have $500 to spare so they can buy the dumper from chishm and then give it to the public?

This has nothing to do with piracy, though. I want to test if a dumped save file from a game is OK, but the ROM of my game which I found online won't load it, so I was hoping to dump a ROM from my actual cartridge.

Hi

It still has too do with piracy unfortuanately. Think about it.

Besides, I don't think your going to get chrism to relise the dumper just for you, even if it DOESN'T have to do with piracy.

I thought I was allowed one backup of a game I owned?
