Has anyone installed the 1.9s or are you waiting for awhile to do it? If so did you have to use a padded/chopped version or the one from wiikey?

ratx

I installed... didn't need to use a padded disk image... still have a working wiikey - can't tell any difference really

For those who have upgraded to 1.9s, please share your experiences.  I'd want to have the config disks before trying the upgrade.  Says on the wiikey site it'll be available in a matter of days. (3/28/2008)

Is there a need to go back to 1.4? i see there is talk about using 1.4 after 1.9s? Can someone please clarify

Perseid

1.9s is the firmware version and 1.4 is the config disc version. I think that's how they're doing it.

Also, I've heard numerous reports that this new firmware update breaks the gamecube audiofix, which is just hilarious. It's almost like they WANT to be lynched.

Is this true?  I'd want confirmation before I put in the update.  2funny  Funny wiikey, but go easy on the poor chaps, they do try very hard. 2funny

There's a thread on wiinewz where some people say it's broken and others say it works fine. Personally I'm gonna wait.

I have a US Wii and I installed 1.9s update.

Original Retail SSBB works fine.
All my backups work fine.
Eternal Darkness and Ikaruga (GC) works and plays fine (proving audiofix is still there)

Heck, I even notice my Wii being a little quieter when reading.

Hooray for the Wiikey Team :)

Hey Shinster, do you have SMG? I hope that's working fine too.  Also, do you have a D2A,D2B or D2C Wii?

Yeah I tried SMG. Still works. I think I have D2A drive.

I have my games on a GCOS disc with FSTFIX run on them, so I actually need the audiofix turned off to make my backups work. After upgrading to 1.9s Ikaruga has that dreadful scratchy sound again whether I turn audiofix on or off, so I can confim something is indeed wrong with the new version. Went back to 1.9g and it works again.

Argh!
