Quote from: "bitblt"Is the Japanese language issue a major stumbling block?
What are the patching options (if you can tell)?
Does any of the FAT lib homebrew work (Moonshell, Doom, etc)?
Does fast microSD media help with slowdowns (Castlevania, etc.)?
Does the Nintendo DS Browser ROM work with the RAM pack in the GBA slot?

Thanks.

Languge is not an issue
No ptaching options except for what language you want (can choose English)
Moonshell, NDSMail, BeUp ,MEgaETK all work, DS Organize, Doom, SnezzieDS, Lupins doesn't work
No slow downs at all. Ulitmate Spiderman even worked!
Dont have the browser or rumble pack but DS- Link say they work.

I GLADLY take back my comment about the DS-Link "sucking",lol. It's very nice. Full review is being posted now too.

I noticed Darkuni added a link to this thread over at DaulScreenRadio.com so I'm including a link to the full review DeVS recently posted.

I ordered from HopeBuy 2006-8-28.  I'm still waiting.  I'll let everyone know when I get it.

Sweet, but I think im gona wait for the slot 1 solution from M3 and/or Supercard.

I just went ahead and bought one from psxbox. i really like it. good quality. but for some reason tony hawk american sk8land wont work, it starts but hangs when the animation starts. also the nsmb minigames dont work.

moonshell does work, its included in the dslink patcher program and there are also some homebrew games like chess on the mini-cd that came with the dslink.

You got your DSLink already! I guess I should have ordered from psxbox.  I'm still waiting on HopeBuy. :|

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered mine from psxbox on the weekend and they haven't shipped yet. Kinda lame since it said "Order now, ships this weekend" when I ordered, then a day later it was changed to "ships this midweek..". But I can wait, I don't even have a microSD yet =)

I purchased a DSLink from HopeBuy 2006-8-28.  It finally shipped today.  It's interesting to note that HopeBuy is now SOLD OUT.

I already own three supercards but I still purchased a DSLink.  All of my DS's are flashed.  My plan is to utilize both slot1 and slot2 solutions not choose one over the other.  I look at DSLink more as a supplement to my existing Supercards.

New users should consider . . .

Supercard =
- Excellent DS support
- Excellent homebrew support
- Fair GBA support (will not get better)
- less expensive
- slot2

M3 =
- Excellent DS support
- Fair homebrew support (could get better)
- Excellent GBA support
- more expensive
- slot2

DSLink =
- Excellent DS support
- Fair homebrew support (could get better)
- No GBA support
- least expensive
- slot1 (requires flashme)

DS-Xtreme =
- ??? DS support
- ??? homebrew support (interesting USB interface)
- No GBA support
- ??? cost
- slot1 (does not require flashme)
(NOTE: DS-Xtream does not support removable flash media.)

I would like to check the options for this DS-link, seeing as it does not boot off of a non-flashed DS.

A friend told me it is possible to start the DS-link off of a non-flashed DS with a MK4-mini, since one can just replace the DS-carts once MK4-mini started. It now came to mind that I could take a dump of that MK4-mini and put it on a SuperCard and let that boot the MK4-mini to boot the DS-link.

This would mean one could boot DS-solutions from the GBA slot.

I want to try this using the normal no-pass and GBA homebrew adapter kit which I own to test this out.

If anyone can provide a dump of the MK4-mini, that would be great! PLEASE PM ME! I will then give you my e-mail adres

Hoping you also find this option interesting.
