Agh, finally got it. For this card, you install the SoftAP driver, and ONLY that driver.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

I'll see if I can get it working.
If the NDS can see it, then I'd think it could work.
I can't guarantee quick results, but I'll poke around and see if I can't figure something out via Ad-Hoc.

i reeeeeaaaly want you prove i´m wrong!!!

Done.
I uninstalled my Gigabyte drivers for my Ralink card, switched my card to Ad-Hoc mode, and set up NAT32e to use my on-board LAN interface (a nForce ethernet card) as the "internet" connection and my Belkin PCI wireless card as the "private" interface, started up NAT32e, and was able to connect to Nintendo WFC without issues.
Just to verify, I dropped all the Nintendo WFC connections from my DS, set it up again, and once again was able to connect.
The biggest issue with Ad-Hoc (as with SoftAP, honestly) is a need for a IP Tunnel from your WiFi "card" to your actual internet connection and a DHCP server listening on the WiFi "card."

While I didn't test with Windows ICS, that should work as well.

My Kung-Fu wins!

coul you make a little step by step to us? i cant get it workig..

fifthecho

For some strange reason, while trying to make a film using Wink to give a step-by-step of setting it up, I can't get it working again...
...and I have homework I should be doing right now...
I'll poke with it more later...strange that I got it working immeidately on my first try, but can't get it working now...
...but then, like I said, Ad-Hoc networking is flakey at best...and a gignormous headache...

No need to worry...the Gigabyte SoftAP drivers actually appear to be a modification of the Marvell SoftAP drivers.
Go here and select driver downloads, select "Wireless" as your product category, and the Libertas AP-33 driver supposedly will allow you to enter SoftAP mode with a Marvell chipset card...if not those drivers, try the other two packages and they should get you rocking and rolling.

Did someone try this ? I want to buy this card, but I saw on http://www.encore-usa.com/Images_of_Products/ENLWI-G_386.jpg this photo MARVELL LOGO

EDIT : I need quick answer, auction ends tommorow (22.00)

EDIT2 : If anyone get it working by "DS WiFi-Connection with RT2500 series Manual 1.0" with other card plz write name/type of your card.

krzym1: I have that card, and I have it working.

When it asks to install a driver, tell it you want to do it manually, and use the Marvell SoftAP driver. Then install the configuration utility.

Open the configuration utility, and bridge your wireless and your non-wireless conneections. Then I strongly suggest you use the Access Control to Allow only the MAC address of your DS. (That way, you don't need to use WEP.) If you have friends over and they want to use it too, you can add their MAC addresses later.

it don´t work for me. my configuration on my pc is, that i have a normal networkcard with static ip address in it which is connected through a router with static ip address to the internet. dhcp is disabled on the router.

then i have the ralink 2500 card inside with the gigabyte software from the link here. my set up is like in the manual from here.

my ds is saying that it could not optain an ip adress. i tried out to give it an static with correct gateway and dns servers.

always the same. ds find the accesspoint but cannt connect to the internet.
got errorcode 52102 with static ip address and errorcode 52000 with dynamically.

i tried it then with my palm tungsten c, which has wifi too. same configuration as the ds. i got an dns error there. weird, cause i set up the right dns servers (the same as on my local network card). and i cannot ping my palm from my pc.

is it correct, that the ralink card optain ip adress and dns and gateway automatically?

in my opinion the errors are from missettings of the ralink card. any help from the forum here?

3 hours later.....
it is running now, but no others on the net for playing :(

what have i done wrong:

i set the internet sharing on the wrong card (the ralink).
i modified the tcp/ip settings.

if anyone have problems like me:
set the internet sharing on your normal networkcard (not the wireless!)

settings for the wireless card should be after (without configure anything!):
ip address: 192.168.0.1
subnet: 255.255.255.0

nothing else!

have fun!

That's only for WiFiMe. If the USB adaptor comes with AP mode or SoftAP drivers (some do), or you can download them from the manufacturer's website, then he can use it.

I've yet to see one...there may be, but at least Marvell hasn't released one and I've yet to come across one for the Ralink...
