i know the faq, ive transfered all my savs from my coputer to CF flawlessly, but it is here that i prose this question. so lets set up a small scenerio...

1. Im on level 10 of some game on my VBA .sav
2. I toss it on my CF and everythings fine
3. I make it to level 15 on my GBA and put the .sav back on my CPU...

so far, i have had no such luck continuing the game in VBA. Has anyone successfully done this? My method was to replace the old .sav that VBA created with the new one my CF card created but by some miracle of god, it still loads the old "level 10" save... any help would be greatly appreciated

Try File -> Import -> Battery File in VBA and select the .sav file from your Supercard.

Hmmm.....I just checked myself, and it seems I am also unable to do this with any ROM and its associated SuperCard save file (either by allowing VBA to automatically load the battery file or by importing it manually myself).

I'll play around with this some tomorrow and see what I can come up with...

Well that was fast. :D

So you have to import the .sav file, but there cannot already be a .sav file associated with the ROM (in other words, a .sav file that shares the same name as the .gba file).  Even if that .sav file which is associated with the ROM is an exact copy of the one you're importing, it still will not work.

thnx diablo, i knew it was something silly like taht. i dont know who else plays their games both on their cpu and gba, but i appreciate it  :)

Diablo

No problem.

This is something that many people need to know, I imagine.  Not only those that have already tried unsuccessfully to continue a .sav file on their PC, but those that plan to do so but have yet to try.

ya you should put this in the saving faq.

I used to be able to use REAL TIME SAVE with the Donak or whatever FLASH COMPACT CARD, but now I just change to use the compact card named DANE ELEC and I can"t use real time save anymore. My question is whether the types of compact cards we use really affect the supercard as well as the ROMs we use?
Need some help. No matter how hard I try, I just can"t use the real time save. I have tried and done everthing and even have read and followed the thread sor the GUIDES you guys posted on the forums. On the whole, I have tried whatever is possible to make the real time save work. But it just turns out it doesn"t. Please help.

The type of CF card shouldn't affect how one feature works.  Have you tried patching the original ROMs again?  Did all the games stop working with RTS?  Have you tried using the other card again to see if it still works?

What happens when you press LT + RT + SELECT + B?  Does nothing happen, does an error appear, or are you able to save but cannot load?

But, most importantly, did you copy the .sci file the Supercard creates when patching a ROM for RTS use to your new CF card?  Without the .sci file, you will not be able to use the RTS feature.

Yes I did copy everything to the CF after I did the patching including the .sci. It seems that every game doesn't work with RTS and EVEN NORMAL SAVE EITHER. I did press the right combination of the buttons, but nothing really happened, which is totally different from what it used to be. What happens though?

Diablo

If you've tried re-patching the ROMs already, try saving using the QPC method and see if you are able to save.  If you aren't, the ROM is either not patched correctly (which you already know it is) or the CF card is not working properly.

BTW, how was your new CF card formatted?  If it wasn't formatted as described in this sticky, then that is the most likely source of your problems.

well, I just got both of the CF cards, two of which had already been formatted, I guess, before I bought them. As you know, if the Cf card has not been formatted, it won't be able to work on the SUPERCARD, will it?

Here are the questions I would like to ask:
1)What happens if the CF card I bought is refurbished or something?
2)I once used the FLASH CARD READER to format my CF card. In doing so, my PC suddenly stopped and went black, which resulted in a sudden shutdown. If the card has been formatted, do we really have to format it again?
3)Well, take Megaman Network Red Sun 4 for example, I used to be able to REAL TIME SAVE FOR THIS GAME WITH my previous CF card, which has already been formatted, and it worked like a charm. But now I just changed the CF card, the brand of which is DANE ELEC Type I, due to some reason that my first previous has been dropped and broke. It isn't compatible with REAL TIME SAVE and EVEN NORMAL SAVE either. No matter how hard or in what way I tried, what I did was just in vain. Does the CF not work properly? But I guess it is brand new. It works well except for SAVING.

well, I tried to format my CF card, but I couldn't. When I clicked right click and selected format, (which is the first method and I am USING WINDOW 98) this is what it came up with:

My CF card/reader is H drive.
A square thing that list Capacity 488.2 mb
format type: Quick(erase), Full, and Copy system files only
Other options
Label: TOSHIBA 512 mb
no label
display summary when finished
copy system files

These are all the things that I could use to format my CF card, so how do I format my CF card?

Diablo

First of all, which version of Windows are you using (you missed the second digit ).

Secondly, if you can't seem to do the described procedure for one method, try the next method.
