How can Mario Kart broke your SD ? O_o

At least, it can brick your DS if you have flashme 4 or -, but kill the SD O_o

The save corrupted is probably cuz the game don't save on the .sav even the rar probably have one (some people said you need a 2Mb save card to be able to save).

* Will wait a confirmation to try it, don't want to broke something just to play five minutes to a game I won't play again later   *

i have tested.  it didn't break my SD card.

BUT, I do get the corrupted save data message when i reboot the game.  This forces a delete of my race records.  :(  I thought maybe there was something wrong with the save file from SCZ, so i used a blank save file, and still get the same message.  tried booting with 4k (metroid), 64k (raymanDS), and 2mb (nintendogs)... same result.  passme, flashme, same result.

argh.. oh well.. at least i have an original cart, but it just bugs me that I can't figure out how to make the supercard version work properly. :)

pscomp

can someone pm me a link too PLEASE !!!!

Koji

Yeah the save doesn't work at all... and since it's patched to save to the SD card, I can't even just have it save to an existing 2mb game. Oh well. Great to play and mess around with it while I wait for mine to come in.

The save for the CF version works just fine. Maybe you could try using it  8)

i think my brother shut down his ds when mario kart was erasing the faulty save fil as he was 'schocked'

hopefully the shop (blokker:P) wil give him a new sd card

SD version works fine on my DS (flashme 5). No messages about corrupt saves when starting, set up my nickname, designed a logo, won 2 grand prix's and powered off.

Then I read the messages on this thread about it not saving track times, etc. so I loaded it back up and all of my details were still there: track times, cups, nick, logo, everything!

The only thing I did notice about the game was an uncomfortable couple of seconds pause after the initial nintendo screen when I loaded the game the very first time. I guess this was the game writing the wi-fi settings to the DS, as the pause hasn't happened everytime I've loaded the game since!

Seems like a good time for me to thank Romman and ALL of the team for all of their work & the forthcoming update!!!

Cheers

strange.

1. Eldumbles, is your DS a "new firmware" DS?  what colour is it and from what country?  I'm trying to narrow down the possible reasons for the save not working on most of our systems (yet it works on yours!).

Thank you for your time.

Also,
2. when did you get your supercard SD?  Thanks.

One more thing:
3. did you ever have an older version of flashme installed before V5?  Thank you for your patience.

Cubehacker

OK it works just delete the save file it will generate a new one automaticly and you will no longer have the corrupt error. Wifi settings must be saved elswhere tho because after deleting the sav file my wifi settings were still there.

On another note

sneef:

1. Silver UK DS (Metroid Demo Pack) - Not the new f/w (thank Christ!)

2. About 2-3 months ago

3. FlashMe upgrade to 5 from older version (4 I think) - used w/ Metroid Demo art (UK)

Addition info which may help...

4. Using Kingston 512MB SD card

5. I renamed the default dsq & sav files to 'Mario Kart DS.nds.dsq' with the sav file to match. (shouldn't make any difference tho - just looks better in the menu !)

Cubehacker:

Wi-fi settings are saved to an area of DS just after the DS firmware - this is why we had to upgrade flashme to v5, as v4 spilled over into this 'unused' area & was corrupted when wi-fi settings were written to the DS.
