Quote from: "Cubehacker"OK it works just delete the save file it will generate a new one automaticly and you will no longer have the corrupt error. Wifi settings must be saved elswhere tho because after deleting the sav file my wifi settings were still there.

On another note

Yes, the WiFi settings are stored in the newly-used area of the firmware, hence the FlashMe v5 release.  I tested your theory on deleting the SAV file and it does not work, a new one is not generated automatically and although the corrupt error is gone, records are not retained.  If they are its because you turned the DS back on too quickly and the save data was still in memory.

Anyone got saving working properly on SD?

PS MK has not killed my SD card and it stlill reads fine in my card reader so I'm not sure whats going on with other people's SD cards....

Not a single problem for me and I've been playing for hours.

sneef

deleting the save didn't help me.  the game plays perfectly, but i can't get it to store my records.  SD card has not been corrupted though.

It stores my decal artwork, and name... just not my race data.  it is very strange that it should work on some supercards and not others.  Could there be more than one SD release floating around  :?:

gingi

My save is also formatted when I start the game.
Oh well, I can wait until the firmware update or until my copy gets to me in two-three weeks.

I deleted my save so there is no save on my SD card... it doesn't save anything, not my friend code not my user name, race data, anything.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the SD version was patched incorrectly and thus, doesn't save correctly.

My CF version dsont save either, do I need a certain game in the Superpass slot?  I am using Meteroid, my DS has not been flashed.

Thanks,

Steve.

My SD don't save. It won't even erase the old data. It says it does but when I restart all the old data is back and my new data has been erased.

Tried the CF trick, doesn't work either.

You need nothing. If it didn't save, it's not your fault. The game was patched to save on SC (if not the file wouldn't have a .sav file) so even if you put a 2Mb game, I think it won't save.

Personally, I think the best is to wait for the new firmware (after what I read of the problem with the card broken after using it, it's sure I won't try prepatched rom of any team, I prefer wait a few day for Gundam for example and be sure it's works fine).

Lemoe

hmm, strange it works for some and not others...mine works fine (perfect even) not a single problem, im not as excited for when i get my copy now....but happy as hell!

I tried it a bit scared, but i'm too curious

I run it three times, and my SD always works, I just deleted the rom to be sure it always works.

weird.

aye aye chicken Pie to clarify a few things duh long day in work ( about the wifi details) the sd version works fine online and saves once you delete the sav file from your SDcard. Delete it and try to load mario kart. Once loaded let it select your user ( that you will be known as ) then reboot and if its still there its saved. Ive taken my CARD READER which ended up corrupt and its basicly dead. 1 - 50 attempts and it will get picked up as a usb device. Dont know if this is anyway connected with the patched mk but its kinda weird it went down just after.
ick of ROMS ?

I don't see how it's possible for it to have saved any data for you when you delete the save, because then there is no place for the game to save. It is still an improvement however as I no longer have to replace the save every time I turn on the DS to play the game, I still don't get any sort of save.
