Maybe it differs between games then but with Sam and Max (190MB talkie version) and DOTT (over 200MB talkie version) saving definitely does not work.  I have not tried Monkey Island 1 because afaik there is no talkie version of that.  The only big version of that I can find just has a bucnh of MP3 tracks for music so you may as well stick with the old version and the old QPC method for that game.

I will happily eat my words and any spare hats you lot have if I am wrong on this as I would love to be able to save on Sam n Max and DOTT.

Actually I only tested with Sam n' Max with no speech and save don't work. I'll try with Monkey Island as soon as tomorow.
I hope we're close to a fully functional version ;)

I just tried today the latest test build(arm9.nds) and it works very well, at least with Monkey Island.
I did not patch the application, I just saved it straight to the SD card without even a fake.sav file, and it works right from the scummDS save menu. No need to QPC or RTS or whatever.
So where is exactly your problem ?

It does work if you continue playing without overwriting the SRAM, but if you save a scummvm game, then play a GBA rom and restart scuum, your savegame will be gone.

Linus

I updated libnds so this version should have the latest touch code...hopefully. it always worked fine for me so let me know if this is better or not.

I renamed that file scummm.nds, it runs but when i try to start a game i have 2 black screens  :?  .
But it seems to access better the sc since it leaves a summvm.ini file.

Same for me, I get black screens on game startup, but the accuracy on the menu screen is perfect!

got two black screens too. everytime after deleting the scummvm.ini, it works again.

Does it depend on how your directories are set out?

Linus

I wouldnt think directory layout matters, i just have the rom in the root dir. I really cant get it to not work so heres the file recompiled hopefully i just sent the wrong one last time.

still doesn't work. I've placed it in the root of my sd card and the games (MI1,MI2,Atlantis) in the "Scumm" folder (with sub-folders, of course). The prgramm runs but the games
don't start at all. After rebooting the ds and restarting scummVM, it isn't even possible to get into the main menu. Well, after deleting Scummvm.ini, I can get into the main menu again but the games still don't work. Linus, I hope you understand my problem.

Mhmm..I see what you mean.
Gotta try that out yet.

Not for me.  If I save a game and then go straight back into the load screen, there are no save games.  If it was saving to SRAM like you describe, all you would have to do is create a blank .sav file and use QPC method to save. That method worked fine for me with all previous versions of ScummVM and because I was using a .sav file + QPC I could overwite SRAM and the game would still not be lost.

I don't know what it is that's different between my setup and those who can save but on my system (UK NDS, SC SD and the test version of ScummVM posted by Linus on page 2 of this thread) saving does not work. At all.  Even to SRAM.

is that the Same person called LOCKE that was working on a homebrew Naruto game in 3D????

Perhaps  it involves something in the configuration file?
This is what mine says after I selected a game (not started) and restart the program:
[scummvm]
versioninfo=0.7.1

[monkey1]
description=Monkey Island 1 (alt) (English (US)/DOS)
language=en
path=mp:/SCUMMVM/MONKEY1
platform=pc
It refuses to display anything on the bottom screen after there's a config file.
