So there is a DS version and a GBA version o_O. well correct me if im wrong but dont all DS flash cards require a GBA flash card anyway with the help of that PassMe thing (which btw i believe M3 said it was going to be compatible with)?

Hello Everybody

eventhough M3 Adapter has came a long way in features and compatibility comparing to Supercard assuming the words in M3Adapter site as trueth,

but i assume prize of M3Adapter is also won't be comparable to Supercard,
M3Adapter would be far more costlier than Supercard,

Thanks for posting Trenton.
I can't wait for the M3.  Hopefully some guys in ioffer will sell it.
Time to buy a passme :)
I agree with the poster who said Romman products suck ass.
Hell, I finally get to their website and the damn hacked sd version of the movieplayer doesn't even work.
Cheap Chinese $h*t.  They seem to never care about quality but only about price and ripping off the consumer.
I hope the M3 folks are of a different philiophy.

I noticed from a chinese website selling the M3 card for around 488 chinese money which is roughly about USD60.00 from my calculation.

That seems to be a very fair price from all the features that it claim to be able to do.

You can try refering this URL :

Your Supercard SD should have came with a Chinese CD containing Tools, applications, and samples in both SD and CF mode. If your missing this, someone stole it from the packaging. Non of these components are compatable. Patching a game using CF version software will cause functions to fail or games to crash (ie. real time save didn't work patched using CF loader). After removing all CF components and installing SD ones, I had no further issues. The movie player binaries are also diffrent so you cannot mix the versions. After updating my previous version with the new SD binary, there was no issues. I didn't synchronize my components with the version from the website, but the CD should contain stable versions from which you can start testing with.

But yeah, this is the info on the price and stuff:
(Taken from GBalpha Translated)

Website selling price: 488 Yuan (x 0.121 = $60 US)
Guarantee: 1 month exchange guaranteed, 1 year maintenance warranty
Comes with: Movie software CD; CF card reader. (CF card sold separately.)
Shipping: Free EMS delivery (mind you that the page is in Chinese, so that probably implies free shipping within CHINA!)

Some of the prices for "bundles":

Movie card M3 GBA version +CF card reader +CF card 256MB = 720 Yuan [$87] (shipping not included)
Movie card M3 GBA version +CF card reader +CF card 512MB = 780 Yuan [$94] (shipping not included)
Movie card M3 GBA version +CF card reader +CF card 1.0GB = 1030 Yuan [$124] (shipping not included)

There was no CD in the packaging (it looked pretty official and the guy from ioffer warned me there was no CD (cost extra) and I could download the latest from the romman site).
I'm not a fool.  I downloaded the SD versions of every app in the romman site.  I have the CF and SD cards on two different computers.  I have not encoded anything yet since I can't even get the stupid filmplay.gba to start (it just black screens).  If you can share that which you have on your CD, it would be very much appreciated.  Heck, email the mods and they'll even host it.
And there is no denying the SC is lacking in quality from all the problems in this board.  They can't even keep their slow POS official site up.

Errr... Romman is a seller of this product?!

(From gbamovie3.com, the Chinese site of the M3):

Listed under sellnet, which I assume to be resellers?

The Shenzhen dragon inundates the technical limited company

Facsimile: 0755-26435199

For those who are intrested here are pictures of the Supercard NDS Converter as sold in China (Sorry about not being actual open box store pics, just product PR shots). I have no idea about performance or features, but if you happen to find yourself in a store, just get the M3 instead. Its probably better (No patching).

Box of the NDS Converter.

NDS Converter card itself:

That "nds converter" is not anything new.  it is just a repackaged supercard.  this has already been discussed online.

Well, there has to be something different for it to get a name change. What does it do that the SC doesn't?

Hopefully something other than a namechange to sell it to unsuspecting folks.
From the looks of it, it looks like a normal Supercard that can fit into the DS. It's strange that romman's site doesn't promote it.

Trenton_net

While I never bothered to look at the specs/features of the card in stores, I'd assume the change is marginal. I wouldn't be supprised if it was just a trick to get people to buy an updated SC that has both sides cut (so you can slide it into a NDS without cutting away the plastic). But even at best case, if given what the SC site says is true about the NDS kernal, the thing probably requires stupid patching like all other SC products.

No, this is just how video game business is done in China and southeast asia too. (I have lived in the region most of my life)

It is just a supercard.  that's all.  romman doesn't mention it because romman doesn't distribute it.  Either supercard is the OEM for the "nds converter" or the other way around.. or the factory that makes the components for supercard is also making "nds converters" on the side... OR.. someone at the company has leaked the specs and sold them, or started his own enterprise using those specs.

this kind of thing happens all the time in China.  the NDS kernel work being done for supercard is not related to the "nds converter" hardware (which is being distributed by firstsing.com, i believe).
