Has anyone downloaded V7 of flashme recently from here:
http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/?

It says Version: NDS-FW-V7. (now supports DS Lite) and I can see that this version is now 526kb where the previous V7 was 270kb.

Is this the beta Lite flashme I've been reading about or is this a new Lite firmware from Loopy?

Has anyone tried this that can confirm? Mavis?

Indeed. I just flashed it and it seems to work fine. I haven't tested it much though - I changed the brightness levels and mucked around with some games on the SD for a bit.

Carty, was that using the flashme from the URL I posted?

Yup, I just used the installation file from the page you posted and it worked great (although I had a hell of a time bridging the SL1 as I didn't have my tin foil to hand and it stopped at 27% until I spent another 10 minutes getting the perfect angle with my trusty paperclip!)

Has anyone tried flashing the new V7 Lite from the older Flashme Lite Beta2? Curious if you need to short the SL1 bridge again. Someone on GBAtemp is saying that you do not need to, but I just wanted to confirm this with a few other people. Maybe Loopy can confirm this for us.

No need to change - Loopy said on gbatemp that it's the same as the beta, but the non-Lite firmware is combined also in this release.

Actually there are two betas.

So if you're using the older one, it needs to be shorted after 66%.
Newer beta is the same as full version, no need to flash but doesn't need to be shortened anyways.

I dont have a ds lite, and currently use flashme 6. Whats the changes from 6 to flash me 7? Is there any point of me reflashing my ds?

thanx in advance

mrEkli

In FM7, MagicKeys no longer need GBA carts to boot.

I have Beta2. Saw that Loppy said there is no need to Update from Beta2 to V7... they are the exact same. Guess that answered that question.

How do you change the brightness levels? Does this only work on the 'lite' or is this a feature which works on the standard NDS?

Jon

Apoc

Changing brightness levels works also in most old DS. There is a thread on it in a Spanish forum, I'll try to translate it and post it in two hours +/-.
