Woah! How would you like for your DS to look like this?

looks cool, but you might want to put a piece of plastic (or paper) behind the LEDS (when you put them in) so you cant see the ds ribbon cable and wires

I currently have a square where the top triangle should be
can anyone suggest any designs using that? make them easy, and no shapes please

(i can do lines)

I dont realy know of a design but if you showed us a picture we could see how big it is and how it looks. I will add some thin metal behind it. the LEDs will reflect off that and help

after lots of sanding and dremeling, this is what i now have

That rectangle is prety big I dont realy know what you could do with that. you could put clear plastic their and draw something on it or something like that . I have gotten all my leds in but when I was connecting it to the power source i fried my mother board and my top screen I think. when I click the power button it does nothing and when I connect the screen to another DS it does nothing so I dont know what is wrong. Here is are a few pictures of it finished

but i may have an answer for that.

when i switched my shell, it wouldn't work when I turned it on. I then went back and took it apart, and made sure all the ribbon cables were in far. I found one that was barely inserted, and pushed it in more. And it worked again!

its hard to tell which one isnt in enough, so you will have try with all the ribbon cables.

lol on a side note,
(excuse the pun) but that is really a DSlight!

No I have taken my ds apart over 10 times and I know all about the ribbon thing its happen alot but see I have two DS's and one motherboard that works will power up the leds without the ribbon attached. the other one will not do anything. the screen works on neither the good motherboard or bad so I think I bent the ribbon. I owe my parents over $100 right now so it might be a while till I get it working unless I figure out how to at least one of them.

Edit: I have fixed my motherboard my bridging the f2 fuse. does anyone know if it can hurt alwasy having a bridge on it? Now I must figure out my screen

I have great news!:D I figured out the problem with the motherboard and the screen. the motherboard had a blown fuse. The screen has nothing wrong with it, what is wrong is the cable that goes up to the screen. what I did was I was pusing it in and out too much and I think some of the wires broke or somthing. So now all I need is a new cable not a screen.

you should use the ribbon from your other ds until you get a new one, so you can enjoy your new shell. Have you spraypainted it black yet?

Get a backlight and draw an image on clear plastic that would work well. You might have to try several designs if you want to try this.

I broke off the end connection of the ribbon and sanded some of it and now the ds stays on but with only a white top screen. I have finished all the wires and it works now but not the screen. I cant use the other DS because it is my brothers and I didnt even let him know I took it apart

. I will try sanding the ribbon a little more to see if I can get it to work. Oh and im not going to paint it black because it is already a black shell and spraypaint doesnt work too well its too thick. to get a thin layer I think a airbrush for model cars and stuff would work better.

ok, i finally know what i want it to look like.
I will have silver plates behind the cuts. So far i am finished with the middle, and the line on the right side. I still have to do the left side and then spraypaint it. Then i have to go buy the silver plates and superglue them

what do you think?

cool, i finished the cut-outs and I started spray-painting it.

Right now i am giving it light coats (i have done 3 so far)
And tonight before I go to bed, I am giving it a heavy coat to make it as smooth as a psp. I put a plastic container on top of it while it dries so no dust or leaves fall on it.

I persuaded my brother to take me to Hobby Lobby (crafts store) sometime today, so thats good news. I hope they have the right size of silver sheets. I will keep you guys updated, and hopefuly i can find a digital camera and take a pic of it and upload it to photobucket once it is completed
