Hi

May I ask...

1. Is it possible to use word wrap when reading text files.

2. What is the advantage of batch dpg 1.2 over version 1.0? (Yes I KNOW the guide hasn't been updated to the new version of batchdpg yet, but I can still ask, right? I'm not asking how to USE the new version.)

@Hi,

question #1, To be honest i have never used moonshell to read text, so i gave it a try. For me it wrapped the text automatically with version 1.6

You may want to change this setting to dual screen for text files.

; 7.3 SelectDisplay [0|1] (Default = 0)

; The screen where the text window is diplayed.
; 0 = Touchscreen (lower screen)
; 1 = Normal screen (upper screen)
; 2 = Dual screen

SelectDisplay=0 <---- change to a 2

question #2, i hate stating something that i have not played with too much, but it is an improved version to help with converting the video (i know you are saying "duh"). I need to sit down and play with more to give you my personal opinion.

@Phantomz, can you give a little more info on which dpgtools you are using along with what type of file you are converting.

Yeah, Moonshell 1.6 automatically wraps text files for you.  Otherwise, you can get a tool that will wrap text, and wrap it to about 40 characters.  This is what the Moonbooks project did/does before 1.6 came out.  Here is a Perl script that will do the job for you.

I'm using the version of moonshell that is built into the scdsone. I'm using the latest version... I thought that with the latest supercard firmware, version 1.6 was the version used.

Anyway, how do you use that perl script.

its a MPEG file when i got the DPG tools from the thing i downloaded at the start of the thread for supercard cf
when i go into dpgenc it says to drag the file into it, so i drag it into it and it starts converting it, and then it has a red cross next to it says
can not get FPS from movie file.
i could get a picture but i dont no how to put them on my post... :)

@phantomz, I don't use dpgtools much, well rarely. I will have to try it out again and see what i get. Have you tried out batchdpg, way better in my opinion. See if you get the same error. make sure you get avisynth and .net. It might just solve your issue.

If anyone has had this problem, please post explanation for phantomz.

@Hi, it will not launch automatically. you have to choose it like a rom. I think supercard is based on 1.51 version. small price to pay to have it work correctly, what 1-2 touches with stylus and you are word wrapping like a son-of-a-bitch.

phantomz

i got everything going now the only problem i have is that if im watching something for a long time the sound goes out of time with the characters mouth... is there anyway to fix it?

spacecowgoesmoo

Can moonshell be used to launch commercial roms instead of the normal OS menu? I'm using a SC MiniSD.

onekelly

Spacecow..., no moonshell cannot launch commmercial roms.

@phantomz, Have you adjusted the settings in the moonshl.ini file yet?

Dithering=0
GOPSkip=0
AdaptiveDelayControl=0

I do not think this causes the problem but more how the .dpg is made. I recommend you use batchdpg and follow the tutorial for settings.

2 questions :

1) Is it possible to launch homebrew under Moonshell (SCL)

2) Moonshell 1.71, is it just me or even with full-moonshl.ini doesn't it let us choose the starting path anymore ?!?!

cygoku,

1. yes it is possible, but i never do.

2. i had the same issue.

here is the text for the missing command
Quote; 1.1 StartPath = [//Path/to/folder] (Default = //AUTO)

; Defines folder to be displayed in FileBrowser after boot.
; Can be something like '//MPCF' (to start browsing directly from CF),
; or '//GBFS' (to start browsing directly from flashcart's GBFS).

; ‹N“®Žž‚̍...‰‚Ì'p'X‚ðŽw’肵‚Ü‚·B‘¶Ý‚µ‚È‚¢'p'X‚ÍŽw’肵‚È‚¢‚...‰º‚³‚¢B
; '//AUTO'‚ðŽw’è‚·‚邯ީ“®'Ÿo‚µ‚Ü‚·B

StartPath=//MPCF/Movies

I have mine start in a movies folder.

Cygoku

So I just have to copy paste that ?!?! That would be cool !! :)
