So whos going camping???

Anyone on this forum gunna go camp out for the Wii?? Or did anyone camp out for the PS3??

IM thinking about going to camp for the Wii but heres the deal:

Ok heres the deal my mom and I made. She said that she would not stand in line for the wii for me. So i tryed to convince her that if she doesnt she wont be able to get one so she said shes not gunna get me one. Later she called me and said if i went and stood in line for the Wii she would be it for me, BUT she would have to wrap it and put it under the Christmas tree til Christmas Day!!!

I dont know if i could hold it in my hands but not be able to play it for over a month knowing that its in my house, under the tree and i know EXactly where it is.[face_sad]

So should i do it or just hope that in Aberdeen, SOuth Dakota there isnt a big demand for them?? But there were about 10 ppl in line for the PS3 today. Hmmmmm....

I'll be standing in line for about 13hrs for the Wii. Brothers going with me for "line" support,lol. Im fairly confident there will be plenty for everyone but im not taking a chance on it.

Hmm... It's a really tough decision.

I've been planning from the start to camp out in front of my wal-mart with a couple friends, then flip the two extra wiis to break even and keep the third system. I figured we'd go and camp out tomorrow night (saturday) and in the morning, play games or whatever till they open. Turns out that now it's wal mart policy (my local one anyway) to give out numbers the day before, starting at midnight! Weird, I know. Apparently they're doing it to avoid fights and stuff, but it seems to me like they'd just be moving the fight to be in line INTO the store and one day earlier!

So I figured, ok, I'll head there after supper and just hang around until I see a line start to form, then play on my DS for the remaining time. But the person I talked to said that the line started at noon for the PS3!

So I don't know what I'm going to do. Camping outside isn't so bad, because you sleep through it. Being indoors in that nasty wal-mart overcleansed air for 12 hours doesn't sound so nice, even compared to how the weather here in canada currently is outside!

Sorry if I'm rambling... really tired. I might just give up on the idea and wait a few months. I've got a good-paying job now, so a few hundred not made on ebay doesn't sound so disappointing. The games I'm most interested in aren't even available at launch anyway.

I'm getting mine at a local EBGames. I already pre-ordered mine, which is good cause, there was 14 pre-orders.... and only 14 systems came in. So if you didn't have a pre-order then you aren't getting one. Glad I pre-ordered xP

Well... at our GameStop you can actually play the Wii without having to wait in line. I betcha there'll be enough.

Does it come today or tomorrow? Either way I'm not camping.

i was hoping to get it on launch but i dont see it happening, hope i get it for a christmas present but highly unlikely, looks like im gunan have to wait a few extra months for it while my friends who do get will probably never shutup about it

From what I hear there'll be plenty to go around within the next month after the release date. I don't feel like waiting in line for it even if there wont be a whole lot of them. I know i'll get it before the year is over. I work at a Sprint store next to a EBgames and have the option to go "test" out the system as much as I want. I also work by a Target store too and there's a whole 10 people waiting out front "camping". One person decided to bring over his X360 and play that while he waits, lol. So good luck to those who wait it out. Enjoy yourselves!

appratenly our walmart is getting around 40....and our futureshop should get more. wallmart opens at 8, FS and 10. I'm going to walk out to the mall at about 4am so i have a prettttty good chance at getting one

i guess its only half camping

Well i just got back from Wal-mart wiht my Wii!!!!!!!!!!! And the Zelda game too!!!!!!! So excited but the deal was i have to wait til chrsitams to play. OH well atleast i know ill get one! cya

Congrats sneef and others who got one. My wife said I should buy one for my birthday, but I am leaning towards the 360 as I mostly play online. decisions, decisions.

i almost wanted to get a 360 to play ffxi online on the tv while lying on the bed.. i'm tired of playing it sitting at my uncomfortable computer desk. lol..

and yes, i know i could play on my ps2, but the graphics suck.

Ohh man the Wii rocks! You simply CAN NOT play this thing and tell me it was not fun as hell. I waited in line for 13hrs and was first. They only had 20 and there were 60 people in line,lol. Got Zelda also (which I haven't tried yet). Wii sports is alot of fun. The control is amazing and VERY receptive to movements so far. Havent read through the manual but I noticed the ring of light is not lit up where the DVD's go? Anyone else know why or how to turn it on?
