i was gonna buy a sandisk 1GB ultra II but i was hearing some people were having issues
so i bought a Transcend 512MB High Speed 80x MicroSD i could not find out the speed for it but the 80x mini sd is 12mb read & write so im hoping the micro sd has the same speed
ill edit the post when my stuff arrives

sneef

did you get it from newegg.com?  i got one too.  transcend 512MB 80x microSD.  I tested it alongside my kingmax microSD (rated around 60x) and the results were identical.  both lagged to the same degree.

jmr

no i got it in the uk it was only £11 so if it not ok its not the end of the world :D

I purchased a Kingston 1G and have some slowdown on Metroid and AC:WW.  Besides that I can say that I am totally satisfied with my purchase.
S Phat + Supercard CF + Kingston 1GB
DS Phat + Supercard MiniSD + Patriot 1GB
DS Lite Black + Supercard SD + Kingston 1GB
DS Lite White + Supercard SD + Patriot 1GB
PSP + FW 3.02 EO-B + 1GB Sandisk
PSP + FW 3.02 EO-C + 4GB Sandisk

actually, i take back what i said about the transcend.. yes, the intro screen for AC:WW has a slight lag, but with card formatted to FAT with 64k clusters, and SCDS set to 4x speed,  the game runs flawlessly in-game.  just as good as g6lite.

Sandisk 2GB - Work
Sandisk 1GB Ultra II - Work
A-Data 1GB - Problems: some games don't load

ive been using my Transcend 512MB High Speed 80x MicroSD for a week now & every game works fine
AC:WW did have slight slow down like sneef said but after formating to FAT with 64k clusters it works flawlessly
after upgrading to the 1.1 loader & doing the auto set sd speed it says my card is to slow & will not support it
then sets my card to 2x but ive set it to 4x with no problems

sneef

yeah, 4x is good for the trancend.  I think the 1.1 loader auto-detect routine is not finalized yet.  I'm sure supercard team are tweaking it before official release.

I'm hoping supercard DS will end up performing as well as my EZV.

Actually, I played ACWW last night on those settings (4x, with a 64k cluster format) and found gameplay to be pretty much perfect, except for loading delays when going room-to-room, and especially whenever leaving an insdie space and goin back outside. Compared to my SCLite, it was taking an extra 2-3 seconds to do this, every time. But once you get back outside, you can run, dig, pull weeds, etc. just fine.

It's acceptable, but I'd like to see it fixed. There's no excuse for this card being slower than its predecessor(s).

It's really disappointing to see the SC DS having posts about slowdown again, damn I'll change my SC CF one day but not until the cards are faster ! (OR the card I get supposidly has no slowdowns)

works most of the time. at times it will fail to boot.

any word on corsair and patriot cards? they seem to be on sale now. :)

Kingston 1gb - made in china - slowdown problems on Metroid Pinball and hangs with Portrait of Ruin
Kingston 1gb - made in japan - perfect so far

using loader 1.1

My 1gb Kingston card works absolutely perfectly with all games (tested with castlevania, animal crossing, tony hawks downhill jam mech assault and puyo puyo)

No lag and no glitches. SD speed set to 30.

vitius

By the way. I tried out my Corsair Micro SD card........... no games work on it. none. zip. zilch. and if you try to auto set SD speed you get the error: "It is too slow! Does not support!"

So yeah, don't use that card XP
