i recieved my superkey today from realhotstuff.com (which by the way is the only place i'll be buying any flash carts from) they're so fast in delievery! but anywho my results with it are:

-Nicely packaged
-EASY to slide in and out of the ds
-Boots right to SC menu no splash screen
-Sleep mode works flawlessly

all in all if you don't wanna end up with a $130 paperweight i suggest you use this as an alternative to flashme.

just my two cents....

I agree 100% ... I also ordered from them and got my delivery in 2 days... great vendor..

However i have to disagree about the flashing.. I got my superkey today and had 4 lites flashed within 20 minutes with it.  If you only have 1 unit and don't plan on doing more for others then yeah.. why bother flashing.. But I would do it anyway for the sheer thrill of the mod.

Real Hot Stuff .. highly recommended

Does the eprom saving work with the super key.  You know when you have to save to the ds cart.  Usually when new roms come out.  " for example tetris when first released"

king_hippO

as far as i know it saves to the sav file haven't put any new roms on since magnetica

That is not what I meant.  Remember when tetris ds first came out and when patching it with the SC patcher you had to select ds cart for the save patch, instead of sd or cf card.  Because saving to the sd or cf card didn't work untill there was an update for the kernal.  Normally you would need a certain ds game in the ds slot.  "  I used rige racer".  Supposally the superkey is able to be saved onto.  I have the max media launcher, and it was suppose to have eprom save support, but I don't think it works, so I was just wondering if it actually works on the super key.  I thought I saw that the superkey had eprom support, but I don't see it mentioned on the SC site.  Code junkies web site description of the MML they took out the part about eprom saving support, it isn't mentioned anymore.  Unless I missed it when brushed through the description of the product.

i don't know about that, like i mentioned i only used the games that were on my supercard, if you do find the answer to that i'd like to know myself that sounds intresting.

How do you use the Superkey to flash your DS Lite?  Is there instructions somewhere?  What firmware do you flash it with?

Good review.

I haveto disagree with you about the flashing, especially since flasme doesn't support sleep mode without an actual original cart, which somewhat defeats the purpose of flashing, ie flashing was meant so people didn't have to use a cart at all.

However also, the likelyhood of a massive increase in viruses and comapring it to firefox is quite bad. Internet browsers and handhelds are two entirely different things. If penatration were all that was needed, you'd be seeing a lot more cell-phone viruses. They would be almost as common as those email viruses. Penatration of Cell phones is far more than even the most widely used handheld system.

I believe the most common reason to flash is to bypass the digital security protection - not to avoid carrying ANY carts at all.  Even with a card in the DS slot, you don't have to carry anything EXTRA - which is probably more desirable - carrying a DS with NO EXTRAS ... just the unit.  With the MML, for example, you have to carry ANOTHER DS game with you.  In the case of the Superkey, you have to have IT in the slot.  So, either flashing or Superkey'ing, you still have to have something in your DS slot if you want to use sleep mode.  I'll take the added security of flashing and the removal of that terrible health mode screen ANYTIME :)

I believe the concept of "numbers" is quite relavent in both cases.  Cell phones are getting viruses now - so many in fact that companies are developing A/V software for them.  Here are some links (more on Google). Not only can they debiliate your phone, they can cost you a lot of cash.

Cell phones are harder to infect because there is such a diversity of OS and hardware configurations.  With the DS- we're all running the same stuff.

I'd much rather keep a retail DS game in the slot as opposed to a passme device.  I also don't see the reason why anyone would want to keep the slot empty.  I like keeping something in there to keep dust and dirt out of my DS.  This is why Nintendo included the GBA slot cover for the DS Lite.
