Is it possible to rip the DS Browser - after japan release - so that is use the supercard's inbuilt RAM: meaning that a translation fix could be made.

No one knows. Just wait til next week when its released and maybe we'll have more info then :)

i can't wait either

but how much would it make your day if it worked without any hacking involved

but for now, im just gonna hope for someone to make it work on SC (at least until i buy it in america) :D

my guess is that they could rip the gba cart and the ds cart, and the supercard has a gba link function doesnt it, cant you use that???

Thundrestrike

hey hey hey thats an idea :!:

well you cant rip ram, lol.........
am The Best and you Know it!!!

Thundrestrike

but the ram is in a form of a GBA cartridge

you can make a backup of the GBA cart, then backup the DS cart
and use the gba linkage thingy that the supercard has

how cool would this be if it worked 8)

ok, but like memyselfandi said, you can't rip ram. haha..  I'm not sure there will be anything to rip.  just memory.

If there was a way to somehow map the supercard's Hynix memory in a similar way as the browser's GBA cart, then U might be able to run the browser from the DS slot ala ultra flashpass or ninjapass... But I don't see how you'll be able to run the browser from the GBA slot, while accessing RAM from the same slot.

Thundrestrike

you are not "ripping ram"  :|

the gba ram cardtridge is a gba cartridge and has the same design as any other gba cartridge. It can be ripped and I dont see why it couldn't be. It is a gba cartridge all in all and it can be ripped just like any other one.

why do you think it can't be..? :?
what do you think?

A standard GBA game cart can be ripped because it's ROM.  A ROM (read only memory) is game code.  Game code can be copied.

A RAM (random access memory) cart is used to extend the DS memory from the standard 4MB.  The extra RAM provides a place to temporarily store HTML content for Opera.  You can't copy RAM because it's blank until it's used by the browser.

The Opera browser code is stored on a regular DS cart.  The only way Opera is going to work with SC is if the Opera code is hacked to run on the SC, and hacked to use SD memory as temporary RAM.

Why not just buy it? It's not that expensive and worth a purchase IMO.

Yea...  I would buy it if no one can do it, but if they can get it working why not get it for free :)

well as far as i am aware atleast some of it stays on the cart, e.g favourites. so i recon its gonna have a rechargeable battery, because surely a normal one would run out like the pkmn batteries, anyways, i think that there will be something to ripp, even if it is a huge stream of 1's, but the cart may be formatted, and probably has firmware too, but thats just what i think, ^^

I think favorites will be saved on the DS cart (like a game save), not on the GBA ram cart.  I'll let you know for sure next week.
