Fixed 1.63 update problem. The problem is Supercard miniSD with CB chips on the back will crash after update to 32%.

just to clear this up:  genuine and fake supercard miniSD both have a lattice chip.  one is on the front, and one is on the back. AFAIK

It doesn't correct the problem, because it's in .bin, and our now-bricked cards can't run it. It's just to let people who HAVEN'T bricked their carts to upgrade safely.

Not that I have a CB version... lucky and got MX's versions... but I do have the older Blue Lattice version.

Does this mean with the updated Firmware 1.63b that it is safe to update the CB, Lattice and MX versions with this new update???

I'll be very surprised if there is a fix that's released. If it was just a simple thing like coming out with another .scu and running it, then why won't older .scu firmwares work? I'm willing to bet these cards need to be replaced. I'll wait a few more days for any news and then i'll send it back to get replaced.

do you think if you try renaming it to .scu that something might happend, go ahead it doesn't hurt to try for those who bricked their supercards.

Quote from: "bz5"Weird...  My Supercard SD only has a lattice chip, Hynix and no CB or MX anywhere to be found...  I'm not sure I'll risk updating to 1.63 yet :P

well, if your supercard has only a lattice chip it's almost for sure a fake supercard..
 No, it's not 'almost certainly' fake. Mine is also a lattice chip, I recieved it last Christmas, long before the fakes were even a faint thought. I don't use it much anymore since I got the SCL so I'll try updating it and tell you my results.

Mine has a Lattice ship and an MX chip. (to the left of the sticker, on the back)

Okay, I can't understand the latest few posts here.
My SC-SD has both a MX (seems to be RAM or flash) and Lattice (clear programmable hardware chip) chip on the back of the PCB (non-SD slot side).
As for fixing your bricked SC-SD, try reading other posts.
There is an app written by darkfater that is capable of flashing your SC-SD (you will need a different boot method at least once): http://darkfader.net/ds/files/flashmp.rar
Something I do find strange is that people think that a bricked product can be unbricked by using the product itself (not counting flashme with the rescue code).

*this isn't my SC-SD (duh) but it can help me explain how mine looks like.
The lattice chip is on the same location, and the flash chip on the far left is an MX flash chip with my SC-SD.

What do you think :).
You will need to either WifiMe (if you have flashed your DS) the file over, or use any other GBA media adapter.

I was afraid of the wifme, lucky for me i have another media adapter at home somewhere. ;)
