DSLiveWeather Update Released

This is a VERY nice little weather app for your DS. It has a nice gui and has come a long way in a short time. There are problems with it saving profiles with Supercard Lite but Mini and regular SC work just fine (SCL work but you can't save your profile). Dont forget to make a folder on the root of your SD card called DSLiveWeather. You can now use your zipcode as your weather code!

Lick has updated DSLiveWeather to work with Chisms dldi patches now. Tested and works perfectly with the M3 Simply/R4 patch. Here is the file but you will need to patch this with which ever cart you use.

this is better in a new post. DSLiveWeather is noted as being 80% completed. Good idea on the weather.com, I forgot to mention that.

UPDATE now saves for sclite users.
QuoteOfficial Release (93%):
DSLiveWeather “Aperio“3
- v2 is built with DsWifi update 0.3b
- v3 is built to work with Supercard Lite.

Information:
DSLiveWeather is very complete. Eventhough the progress still states that it’s at 93%, all the features that I originally planned are already implemented. The remaining 7% are probably the WiFi Configuration that allows the user to catch weather information on-the-go (connect instantly with free hotspots).

Changes:
The latest version of Aperio, version 3, adds Supercard Lite support and fixes a small rendering glitch (thanks heyyouguys aka onekelly).

For those who haven't heard: when you save the Profiles (in the Settings tab), the units preference (F/C, miles/km..) is saved as well!

The ‘Updated x min ago’ actually works now. It shows exactly how old the information is. ;)

Summary of Features:
- View the current weather and weather forecast of all the locations supported by Weather.com.
- Configure/load and save 64 unique Location Profiles.
- Beautiful icons taken from Xbox Media Center Weather (with permission of course).
- Full touchscreen control, but also keycontrol.
- .. and much more for you to find out!

Installation Notes:
- Download DSLiveWeather.
- Copy it to your homebrew device.
- If your homebrew device supports FAT then DSLW can load and save location data known as Location Profiles and downloaded weather data, however, you have to create a directory named “DSLiveWeather” in the root directory.
- When you start up it’s important to see “DsWifi ready!” and “LibFat ready!”.
- If you see “DsWifi failed!” then report this as soon as possible.
- If you see “LibFat failed!” then check if your homebrew device is supported. If it’s any newer than Supercard Lite, you can expect failure.
- Press SELECT on each tab to see the Help message for that screen.

Known Bugs
- Some devices aren’t supported yet.
Please report any bugs that you find so I can remove them ASAP.

You see licks reply to my post at GBATemp, he said forecast aren't working but there next on the list.

I was just reading it, I told you he has a great attitude about this (on my other post). to the forecast issue, I kinda thought so, as last night it was running great on my SC SD but no forecasts. I assumed it was part of the 20% not finished yet. Having the graphic is pretty nice compared to the older versions I tried out earlier.

DeVS

Ya I skipped the earlier versions since he said he would add a gui later. Can't wait for the finished app.

Yeah for me the forecast feature will be great. Cause I usually can look out the window to see what is going on but for the other places I travel to it would be nice to know the weather. Esplecially as I can toss it onto my daughters ds and quickly check the weather. Though it seems of late, I am not far from my dslite.

New beta version is up with working forecast. Download from this thread here: http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?p=102524#102524

Against all odds..
Underground release (please don't slip this beta out of this forum topic, or this build will magically corrupt your cards! Hehe..)

beta
- Added forecasting (with same graphics);
- Loading is still automatic at start, however saving is done manually with the START button in each tab;
- All profiles are downloaded at once for the specific tab: if you download in Currently, then all current data is updated. If you download in Forecast, then all forecasts are downloaded!

Personally, I'm most proud of the last feature! ;P
The final release of Aperio will include the moonshell FATlib.

Report any bugs or requests!

Works very well on SCLite, just no save, but hopefully that will be fixed when Moonshell fatlib is implemented.

Cool Program.

thunderstrike, see first post on this thread.

devs, here is what I have found (also posted issue on gbadev)

Works on both cards SC SD and SClite for the Forecasts.

on the SC SD going thru the settings (06 entries) when it got to 3-4 it started to show pixels in the numbers top right then back to one and check currently word written over each other in a garbled mess.

I am also having issue with C to F not saving on my SC SD.

New official release now out. Here's the changelog:

QuoteInformation:
First Official Release that includes graphics, current weather and forecasts.

Changes (from Aestus release):
- Added Help screen, access by pressing Select.
- Added forecasting! (YAAY!!)
- Added a small iTWC logo, required in weather.com XML license.
- Fixed some bugs, thanks for reporting them. ;)

Installation Notes:
- A folder named "DSLiveWeather" in the root is -still required- to load and save data, which is never required, but is really nice.
- Also the same: use 'lick.huuf.net' as DSLW Server and 'weather/fetch2.php' as File, in the Settings tab.
- You might want to delete previous reports and forecasts (reports.b & forec.b).

Bugs
- Still using the limited libFat, until DevKitPro r20 is out.
Please report any bugs that you find so I can remove them ASAP.
