And you have the dsliveweather folder in the root dir?

tobster

yes, dsliveweather folder and the nds file are both in the root - the nds file is not inside this folder.  Still get message 'error loading reports & forecasts' & the location is unknown.  Any ideas - BTW, I'm using the location ID ukxx0002 for Abingdon, UK

So it does say "DsWifi Ready!", right? Those errors are probably because you haven't downloaded any weather information yet, which is why there aren't any saves. Once you get the downloading to work, the fat errors should go away.

Do other homebrew applications that use WiFi work? NDSMail, Beup or that VoiceChat thing?

hi lick
curiously enough my beup has stopped working (SSL connect failed) which I've not had before, but Mario Kart wifi seems to work.  Yes, DSWifi is ready.

I am clueless! Did you perhaps fill in the Location ID in the Profile Name-textbox??

Could you take a photo of your settings screen, and the text-output when you try to download information?

Thanks!

Hi Lick
No the location id went in the correct box.  Perhaps this recent loss of beup connectivity is indicative of a common homebre wifi issue??  I notice on maxconsole that a number of bods are reporting loss of homebrew wifi despite their nintendo games running fine. IF they find a fix I'll report back.  BTW I have recently tweaked my PC to a static IP address - surely this can't be the problem??

Are you using the -LEFTMOST- WiFi profile? But it seems that you're already passed that step.. Does the console output contain "Connecting to AP.. Success!" ?

:?

Alternate DSLiveWeather Server got updated.

So now you can connect to :

DSLW Server: “lick.huuf.net”
File: “weather/fetch2.php”

DSLW Server:”lick.whatalicefound.net”
File: “fetch2.php"

This is straight from Licks blog, thought it needed to be passed on.

Hi OneKelly & Lick - well Beup has mysteriously started working but unfortunately the Weather prog has not healed itself.  BTW, I've tried the new weather server settings - any more ideas what's going wrong (Error loading reports (FAT) & it says unknown location.

New release, here is the info:

Official Release (95%):
DSLiveWeather “Vesper“

Download URL:
http://lick.huuf.net/DSLiveWeather_Vesper.zip

Information:
DSLiveWeather is very complete. Eventhough the progress still states that it’s at 95%, all the features that I originally planned are already implemented. The remaining 5% are probably the WiFi Configuration that allows the user to catch weather information on-the-go (connect instantly with free hotspots).

Changes:
- Added reset-to-menu icon (that will save the brightness on exit).
- Press key X to cancel a connection attempt.
- Fixed the time-display in the Currently-tab.
- Fixed the flickering text.

Installation Notes:
- Download DSLiveWeather.
- Copy it to your homebrew device.
- If your homebrew device supports FAT then DSLW can load and save location data known as Location Profiles and downloaded weather data, however, you have to create a directory named “DSLiveWeather” in the root directory.
- When you start up it’s important to see “DsWifi ready!” and “LibFat ready!”.
- If you see “DsWifi failed!” then report this as soon as possible.
- If you see “LibFat failed!” then check if your homebrew device is supported. If it’s any newer than Supercard Lite, you can expect failure. Also, I repeat: you need to create a folder in your root, named EXACTLY "DSLiveWeather". If you don't have that folder, you CANNOT save.

- Press SELECT on each tab to see the Help message for that screen.
