Just wanted to let you guys know about my plans ... ;)

I'm going to camp out at a big electronics store on March 2nd to see if I can snag a DS Lite or two ... I'll be heading to work immediately thereafter, but on the train on the way there, I'll be testing the Superpass2 and Supercard with the Lite. I can post to my website from my mobile (with pictures) so if you guys check my site around 10:10am on the 2nd (Japanese time - the store opens at 10am) I will post my results - basically just a 'yes it works' or 'no luck' ...

The site is www.mavisxp.com ...

Just wanted to let you know. I know a lot of you guys are curious about the Lite, probably quite a few of you will buy it - and if you check my site around 10:10am on the 2nd, it'll probably be the first place you can find out about whether the Lite works out of the box with the Passme2 ...

edit: here's what I've got so far ...

1) SuperPass2: Working
2) Supercard in DS mode: Working!
3) Flashme v6: Working!!

Quote from: "cheerup347"LOL! you need to charge it first!

i dont think you thought of that

No worries - Lithium Ion batteries are never shipped without any charge at all, because being totally drained is really bad for them (it shortens their life considerably, as does remaining at 100% for extended periods) ... So, the DS should have enough power out of the box to power on for the thirty seconds I'll need to check the SP+SC ... ;)

But it's only being released in Japan, to start with - and only on March 2nd, not February 28th ...  :?:

Umm ... ok. So I guess we can expect to hear within the next few hours whether the Lite works with Passme2 + SC?

Well if not please update us Mavis. Is the DS region coded or could I import one from Japan and it be in English and play USA games?

Hey, if you do get the DSLite working with the PassMe2+SC, please dump the firmware and send it to (loopy/olimar?)

On this page, there appears to be a firmware dumper that will save to the SRAM of the NDS card. Assuming the DSLite still uses the 256K flash chip and not the 512K one in the iQue, any DS game that has a 2M save should be sufficent to hold it. Then you can use RAIN to dump it to the SC and send it to whoever.

Edit: DeVS: No Nintendo handheld is region coded, and all regular DS units have all the languages in the firmware; no reason the DSLite wouldn't.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

You would need a 220v to 110v stepdown adapter for the charger though, lest you blow something. Those are like, $5 though. Lik-sang has DSLite's on Pre-order with the stepdown as an optional accessory. $210 for the whole thing, with the cheapest shipping option I believe.

not the micro charger.  my micro charger is 110v only. :(  i had to buy a usb charge cable because i go back and forth to southeast asia a lot.

so maybe the ds lite charger is also 110v only?
