Quote from: "sneef"J-Dub:  ok.  well, i took a look at the m3/g6 passkey2 that I got, and it has a very clear label "passkey 2".  I think yours is the older one.

does your passkey have a little switch on it? if not, then it's not the passkey2.

This is what I have.  I remember it being called "SuperPass2" for some reason. I got it from some online retailer and it arrived with no manual or box. It does have the switch, as you can see in the photos:

Quote from: "sneef"as long as your .gba and .sav file match the original DS cart you use to boot, then it should work on any 'new firmware' DS.  So i'm not sure why you can't get into DS mode with your setup...

I made a video to show exactly what is happening.  I just got this in the DS Lite mail from Play Asia yesterday (4/3/06).  Here is a photo of the back showing the model # and all that info:

Is it possible Nintendo changed something on this newest batch?  I imagine reports would be pouring in if that were the case.

Here's what you'll see in the video.  DS Lite boot w/ Supercard.  iqsram.gba is loaded and SRAM loaded message appears.  Power off, PassMe 2 plugged in, power on, double white screens after seizure warning.  I then unplug the PassMe2 and SD SC and repeat the process on the older Pink DS.  Everything works fine.

Thoughts?

strange.  i'm gonna watch your movie now.  by the way, the switch on your passkey is not the switch i was talking about.  that switch on yours just lets you run the DS cart that's in the passkey, if you select it.

I didnt know about that switch.  the passkey2 has a switch for passkey1 mode, and passkey2.

watching video now.  will edit post.

[EDIT] dude.  i don't know what to say.  I can't figure it out.  my navy Ds Lite has the same model number as yours.. would you mind PM'ing me part of your serial?  maybe just * out a few numbers in the middle.. i'm just curious.  mine is UJF1015***5

Maybe they DID do something to the newest batch.. hmm.. [/EDIT]

Carty

Apologies for posting this in multiple threads but I thought it might be worth it to someone who checks the general forum instead of the SC one.

Anyway I flashed my navy DS Lite (Bought on the 20th so not the newer batch) and I had the dreaded power reset at 1% after bridging the SL1 gap.

Following Redcage's advice (from the other thread) I removed my superpass 2, and turned the DS on whilst holding START+SELECT+A+B. The power LED came on but blank screens - I then pressed A and the supercard loader kicked in.

I did this a few times actually - blank screens on boot but using the above method I could run the SC DS loader. I just ran flashme again from there and it started at 1% before I had even bridged SL1 the second time. Bridged it again and it went to 100.

So it worked for me, I hope this works for everyone else too. (V7 regular flashme BTW)

Hey...

darkuni, capsule and Bluecat, Carty's post is indeed very very good news for you both!

If someone has sucessfully recovered from a 1% freeze, there is no reason why you cannot too!

Capsule... check your PM.

Thanks for the post Carty!!!!  Very very good news to hear!

Different serial #: UJF10230**3

sneef

the serials look like they're part of the same run.  weird that the passkey doesn't work on yours.

capsule

That is indeed good news! I am pretty sure I tried the same with mine (A+B+SELECT+START, A) and it wouldn't come up. I was fortunate though....I went to the store where I bought it and they replaced it for me on the spot!  :o  I will try reflashing this weekend (I will put on some diapers in advance this time hehe).

Daveychan, never got your PM.

mrEkli

I'm almost convinced that is a PassKey 1 with no PassMe 2 code. But have you tested it on other systems?

sneef

he tested it on a pink DS with "new firmware"...  it worked.  It looks like the old passkey to me too.  weird.  i think someone programmed it to work with AMFE (metroid demo) as passme2..

Did you try it without the superpass 2 in? Because this blind navigation technique only worked for me after I had removed the superpass 2.

capsule

I tried both ways with no luck.

Hey guys i tried SC with passme1.5 programmed with warioware and it worked. I wrote the  passme sram first and quickly turned it off and on again with the passme inserted and SC menu loaded up. I have UJF100071** with no dead pixels!  :)

Hey mavis, i installed the hori screen protector perfectly with just one try! in your face man. hahah

any word on the flashmelite? my M3 is coming soon.
