Supercard Firmware updates are getting less and less

DeVS

Not much need for one at the moment. GBA support wont be getting any better and DS works just fine.

Yea but its because almost all the bugs are out of it.  The GBA games cant realy be fixed because of the ram problem.  I think they are working on a supercard microSD right now.

what about a custom boot menu or background image for when selecting or scrolling for files and stuff!

DeVS

Style and "show" aren't Supercards cup of tea. There gonna give you the basic functions for playing DS games and it will be both ugly and non customizable, lol. I highly doubt that changes.

thats a shame so it isnt possible to make a custom background for SC oh well

Roman said that their was no room on the supercard for a different menu.  but I dont get why he couldnt make a folder to use as a menu like moonshell uses the shell folder.  Isnt the supercard firmware source code released?  if so couldent someone figure out how to load a menu file on the card?

I happen to think that the ongoing support for this product is excellent.  Consider the fact that I bought my Supercard CF in the fall of 2004.  It was the very first cartridge that used removable media instead of small and expensive non-removable flash.  Running ROMs on the DS was merely a dream at that point, so it was really just a GBA cartridge at the time.  Fast forward to 2005-2006 and I now have a cart with excellent DS compatibility for no extra cost.

Gotta agree, Rommann strectched this sucker far. Don't have 1 complaint about the DS side of things.

I actually think the Supercard is the No.1 when running DS roms. The M3 is very close but it would seem you have to do more mucking about with settings.

I put 'Ultimate Spiderman' on my nephews SC CF a couple of days ago, and was about to show him how you had to pause at the start to stop it crashing.. well I got sidetracked and forgot and when I looked back a minute or so later the game was running fine and I didn't need to pause at all, so it seems they have even fixed this promlematic rom ! ..on the Cf version at least.
Yes I'm mad

The only problem I have is ongoing speed issues -both GBA and DS.  I just played some Tony Hawk on my actual cart, then hit the Supercard - and honestly the Supercard copy is simply unplaybable to me because of the slow down (see Animal Crossing for the same issue).

I do NOT feel robbed or ripped off (which is why I own like 4 Supercards) - I'm very pleased overall.

If anything, the only real disappointment I have is that they have had the opportunity to improve GBA support on a hardware level with each new type of card that's released, but they haven't done that.   :(

True. It would be nice if they did so on a SCmicro, but somehow i doubt it.
