I remember reading all upgrades should be done with DS in GBA mode, is this still the case ?
I have a CF Supercard

It's not usually required but I would recommend always upgrade the SC firmware in GBA mode.  When you upgrade in DS mode it switches to GBA mode anyway.  The SC firmware updates are GBA code.

Turned on the DS Lite (flashed) with the SuperCard Lite.
Was automatically prompted to update.
During update there were couple of pauses at 33% and 65%
Maybe something at 33% can cause the update to halt on some SC's

It seems that only the supercard with back chip CB got bricked. The others with the "MX" chip are fine.

mine both say MX.  Maybe CB are fake?

No CB are not fake.. maybe a little older than MX ..

Supercard updates always do this from my recollection.

Now I want to ask, I've noticed something in the new patcher, ROM position now has SC, CF, SD which I all understand but when did the option for DS come in for the ROM ! and what does it mean ?? are they planning some new device ??

Hi all, one of the Chinese SC forum thread mentioned the following about upgrading to 1.63:

It says that the 1.63 and 2.55 muct be used together or else you'll see a white blank screen. Before the upgrade you should have upgraded to 1.62, during upgrade do not cut off the power, and DO THE UPGRADE under GBA mode.

Looks like GBA mode is recommended, but I'm not sure how "official" this guy is.

Anyhow I'm gonna upgrade my minisd tonight, we'll see.

Same with mine, except it was a mini-SD, not Lite.

I'm having same issue with my miniSD, gets to 32%-33% and throws an error, I've tried everything, with passcard, without passcard, in gba mode in ds mode... same result each time.

The update seems to only work on MX chips.

thanks for the info, hopefully it will be fixed for CB chips soon.
