DS Lite + FlashMe: hands on!!

Interesting. I guess I'm really lucky flashme v6 ended up working!! :oops:

Anyway, since it's possible to flash a bricked DS (soldering required) I reckon you should be able to do the same with your DS too ... Worth a shot anyway ...

hey mavis, are you in contact with loopy et al, as to any progress on a ds lite flashme? I'm itching to flash my lite, but i really need the brightness adjustment, so that i dont have a super-bright screen when i play in a dark airplane cabin. heh..

just wondering if you had any word from them..

I am also anxious to flash my DS Lite, shame there is no suppliers selling it at a reasonable price yet

I haven't emailed him in a couple weeks, so I have no idea how things are going with the new firmware/flashme ...

I just got my DS lite a few days ago, the enamel navy blue one. It's absolutely awesome, I could never go back to the old model. Anyways, I got a superpass 2 and hooked it up to flash it, but I keep getting an error when I tried to flash it saying that the hardware is not connected to PC/ usb cable not connected/ SP2 key switch not open. I checked the help forums and saw others with the same problem, but it seems noone found a fix? I want to flash my lite, but now I'm kinda screwed. Anybody know how to fix it? I'm completely stumped.

Congrats on the new Lite!! To answer your question, I really don't know what to tell you ... I got that message on two different SP2s, after having been able to successfully program one of them, ONCE. After that, forget about it - I even tried another USB cable and programmer, and tried to flash them both manually, but it didn't help. You might try posting in the help forum, but TBH I think your best bet is to buy a different pass device.

As for the DS Lite, good news: I've just heard from a very reliable source that there will be a flashme for the DS Lite coming soon!

That, of course, put a big smile on my face ...

If you have already switched the write protect switch on the side of the PassMe2, then make sure you have the PassMe2 hooked up to your parallel port as well as the USB to flash it. I'm guessing the USB cable is for power and the parallel port on the programmer is for flashing the PassMe.

I am having the same error, and I am so angry about it, because apparently there are MANY others who are receiving faulty superpass 2 units.. the guy I bought it from says he'll replace it, but I really don't think I should even have to pay shipping to ship it back.

so lame.. I don't know how long i'll have to wait to be able to play supercard games on my lite.

I've read alot of threads about the issue. I made sure I had everything hooked up right and tried it on 2 different PC's. Ugh. I hear the M3 Passkey2 is pretty good and doesn't need a PC to flash it. Anyone know where I can get a Passkey2 from a US based company? I hate ordering from overseas. It takes so long...

Hey, I just saw that there's a new version of the SuperPass software up, on the official (supercard.cn) site - you might wanna give it a shot, it was just updated (March 23, 2006) ...

*sigh* didn't work.. i guess i'm mailing back my programmer today. at least the guy was nice enough to agree to send the new programmer at the same time, instead of waiting to receive the faulty one.

Anyway I'm glad some people found this information useful, I imagine a lot of people will be buying Lites once they're released in the States/EU, so it's always nice to know in advance that it's going to work (and to have someone else do the guinea pig thing) ...
