Yeah, there's a hole and it should be possible.

Yeah, you could just use your thumb stylus from an old (original) DS ... The Lite comes with a lanyard, it just doesn't have the thumb stylus piece ...

Hello mavis,

Have you tested the Nintendo WiFi Connection? Did it work on your Nintendo DS Lite using Flashme v6?

Can you remove Flashme v6 and recover the original Nintendo DS Lite firmware?

Thanks

I tried MKDS WiFi and it seemed to work, but I didn't actually end up racing anyone ... So, I'll try again when I have more time.

As for the Flashme v6 - there's no way to reinstall the original firmware because it hasn't been released in a standalone, loadable form yet ...

It has. The current NoFlashMe you'll get from the official site (first Google result for FlashMe) has the ability to select what firmware you revert to. (Press select to cycle through the choices.) It lists the DSLite's firmware as v6.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Sweet! Thanks for the tip!

So, what happens when you load that firmware on an old DS? Since that's basically what everyone keeps asking ... ;)

I haven't tried, as I don't have a PassMe handy to reflash. However, Loopy/olimar said the brightness settings don't work, and it's glitchy. (I forget exactly what he said, it's on GBADev.org somewhere in the DS boards.)

Mavis can you post directions on how you backed up the DSL firmware?

I couldn't get any of the dumpers to work with my Supercard SD (including the one that dumps to an NDS cart) so I emailed Loopy and he ended up making an SD dumper for me - it worked just fine ... It looks like he has since put it up on his site, you can download it here.

IIRC, I just ran it and it said "Done" or something. Piece of cake. :D

i know this isn't really part of the topic, but I just got my Enamel Navy DS Lite in the mail, and WOW!  it's so cool!  Anyone wanna buy a pre-flashed japanese pure white DS? lol..

I am really impressed by the colours.  Rayman DS, which looked dull before, looks really nice now.. too bad i sold off most of my other original carts.. I'll have to wait till my passme2 arrives in the mail to try my supercard/m3

just wanted to let you all know that the enamel navy looks really nice.

I had an extra broken top screen red DS to test this... Um... yeah. It's not very usable anymore. DSmode shuts off like it's out of battery, enough though it's plugged in. GBA mode still works. This might be because I left it in Automode, if it was Manual start up, it might've been completely useless.

UPDATE: GBA Mode lacks sound too.

sneef

what are you gonna do with the broken screen DS?

i wouldn't mind tinkering with it if you wanna sell it..

mrEkli

I bought it for cheap to test things like this without too much worry. But DSMode cannot be entered, even with my PassMe device. I wonder if it's possible to fix this.

sneef

oh so you cant even run noflashme... if i had it, i'd buy a new DS mainboard and top screen from ebay.  but i wouldn't invest that much into it.  since now there are 2 problems with it (screen and firmware)...

mrEkli

I ran noflashme on it. That's how I installed DS-v6 (DS Lite) into it. It's not compatible. So I took one for the team. No one else try this, okay?

Unless you're trying to fix this type of problem or work with it.
